Very quiet regarding us. Was hoping for a beast up front. Maybe a full back that would really have set us up for the season. Also another forward who definitely frozen out Fletcher from being involved.
Without a doubt. We haven't used any of our domestic loans yet and it wouldn't be Sunderland unless we used them up!
Yeah that's what I'm thinking like. Wonder about the dealings with Liverpool would they have sharked us Enrique? 'Pool fans saying his legs have gone though. Straw clutching so just wait and see, ha.
Enrique off to West Brom for............................ 7m I reckon we'll take a young, average defender from a top 6 club on loan and that will be that.
how will anybody just 'release him', when no-one knows who actually owns him. If it's us, we're not going to release him for nowt, are we, the plonker.
Reckon his wages would be a problem. Seems that the reason they're getting rid of Jelavic is to lower the wage budget & I bet Fletcher is on more than him. Question is are we better off subsidising a % of his wages and letting him go or keeping him and paying his wages in full to sit on the bench?
I agree although don't clubs have relegation wage clauses and stuff? If so he'll probably be on less now.
apparently, according to the sky bloke at the SOL (on sky news), we're after one more - a young defender. please make this another left-back, and a good one. oh, and getting shot of Fletch & the rest would be great.....
I think generally yeah, but as he was signed season before and from Everton, I wouldn't be surprised if Jelavic didn't, would he have signed for Hull with the thought of relegation? They've sold a load anyway, so even if so I'd reckon they've a few quid spare for salaries.
Daily Star (Via the Fail) is reporting Bournemouth may be in for Will Buckley -- Please say we can get him off the books quickly.
Buckley has always given his best for us, as has Briddo, others I could mention who cost a lot more, have not. I can't see why we should belittle their efforts and not wish them well if and when they move on.
I have no doubt that we have bought worse (application/effort wise) but the fact remains we need to start getting players of the like off the books sooner in order to free up the wage bill for new players. If not today January. The sooner they are off the books the less we pay even if we dont replace straight away the reduction in the wage bill over those months should give us more to play with.
Certainly and it clears the way to give our home grown players a sniff of the coffee, something they don't seem to get at this club of ours. Just look at the difference those two made in the recent cup game.
