TBF our owners are not short of a few quid but are trying to build a sustainable model. If Stokes owners want to shovel money into the club then they will have to find a way to do that within the rules of FFP the same way our owners would have to so in that respect I am trying to view it from a within the rules kind of way. I have no doubt that if Sunderland needed a large injection of cash we would have improvements of shirt sponsors or stadium naming rights etc. (Who fancies THE BLACKROCK STADIUM OF LIGHT) lolStoke owners are the richest in the division iirc. Definitely one of if not. But I just don’t see them spunking £30k a week on a striker when they signed Gayle last season who’s within the top 1% of earners in the division just from the portion of wage that Stoke pay, plus they have Jacob Brown on a decent wage. They’ve just been hammered by FFP they won’t fall into the trap again you’d imagine.
