Sunderland have ideal profiles for each position within their squad, and are working on a general basis to try and recruit players who can fit into their preferred playing style. While this can of course vary depending on injuries, opposition etc the club philosophy is a high intensity, counterpressing style in some variation of a 4-3-3.

In theory, having a defined style allows the club to focus their scouting on players not just with high potential but with the attributes to succeed within the team shape and style. Sunderland do this through a combination of traditional and data-led scouting methods. Head of recruitment Stuart Harvey gets through a huge amount of work travelling to watch players and build relationships abroad, while a lot of work is also done closer to home to use data to assess potential recruits. While under the new regime this was initially done through a new in-house department, the work is now done in conjunction with the club’s data partners.

really interesting read about how business works at sunderland
Get away... loved STID I when the chancer rang every Championship club on transfer deadline day asking them what they had spare...

.... we ended up with an injured left back from Leeds

Just a warning, Sensible Sunderland are on the windup again so disregard anything they say but have a laugh at the fuming Coventry fans

Where's this, I've been toying with them on their forum now and again ...

... they keep telling me to 'f*ck off' but I'm used to that posting on here tbh <laugh>

Leeds are a cracking bunch as well mind, proper fans.

Whether they’d have matched the Ballard scenes though, not sure anyone would have <laugh>
Just look at their home games in particular. Stood up right around the ground and noisy. Coventry at home was immense from us but we really need more of it

First season will be incredibly tough but I feel we’ll go about our business different to the last promoted teams. If we stay on he gravy train then we’ll be the ones getting bids of 50/60 mill for Mayenda/rigg etc.

even with relegation the prem money will take us to a new level of thr model anyway

That’s why I was so desperate for promotion. We’re now in a totally different position and for the better

Some new account OTR has posted a thread titled Noah Ohio and said

Don’t know much about him
Think he played for hull a couple of seasons ago not sure.

It'll sit nicely with all the other posts mate ...

... nothing, on the window threads, should ever be taken seriously.

Hope we can get Harrison Burrows from Sheff Utd...nothing to do with his attributes as a footballer but I found out after the final that he`s good mates with one of my godsons...knew they were at the same school - didn`t know they were mates...Godson got the arse with me as if SU had won Burrows had promised a group of them a "proper" lads holiday someplace super fancy...now they`re having a weekend in Manchester!

DORTMUND are confident they will beat Frankfurt to the signing of Jobe Bellingham and are offering him the chance to play at this month’s Club World Cup.

The Bundesliga giants are prepared to offer Sunderland £21million plus add-ons for the teenage midfielder

Although Frankfurt are prepared to match that offer, it appears Dortmund are currently in a stronger position to secure the deal.

Sunderland, after clinching promotion, are keen to keep the youngster and could hold out for £25m

No way 21m, we turned down 20 last summer and he's had a much better season. 25m should be the bare minimum starting point now. Real have just paid Liverpool 10m to have TAA a month early! They want him for the Club World Cup then they pay closer to 30 for me.

Think we need better than KDH to be honest he barely played in the league last season and was in the champ the season before that - no chance of Madueke can imagine the likes of Villa/Mags would be all of that for big money.
