I disagree, it seemed to be the widely held opinion that there would have been some sort of fire sale had we failed to get promoted but I'm not so sure. Thankfully it's a moot point
Haha I can imagine, was walking home from school when that broke, I was like Aston ****ing villa they’re in the bottom 3! I’ve had one piece of ‘Itk’ i got it from a colleague who’s mate at the time worked on the media size of the club so had sent me a picture of our new signing a few hours before it was confirmed. The iconic player I hear you ask, Tommy smith, the centre half. Don’t think he made an appearance haha.
Kind of funny how favoured we are by all to finish rock bottom yet we have loads linked with clubs in higher positions
Totally understandable why we’re favourites for 20th place currently. That might be a lot different come the end of August
20 pages to catch up on after a day at work and I get to the end and we've not even been linked with anyone!
If he stays it will be our most important signing this summer imo. I think he will absolutely shine in the premier league. One less new player to bed in as well.
Would be disapointed to lose hume mind although for him personally to join a side not likely to go down is better for his long term future dont see us getting through the window without us losing someone who isnt jobe
Of course, the finish in the pyramid shows that. Was just saying, not often you see a team expected to finish bottom but have the amount of players linked away that we do. So far (day 1 of the window) Jobe, mundle, Hume, Mayenda, Neil all been linked with other established top tier clubs. Can’t afford to lose more than 1 imo.
At this point we've absolutely no idea what squad we'll have and no idea what plans the club have ... ... so the default, for every Sunderland supporters, is to do just that.
When the team for the first leg of Coventry was shown I was like. “If we don’t go up we’re losing 7 of this starting 11”
