Aye, but I genuinely think we have a far higher ceiling and are in many way potentially more ‘appealing’ if we reach a level.

The fan base and the Netflix etc is great. If we’d have had that documentary 5 years earlier, who knows.

We are similar size to Villa. They are in the CL this season. They took a step back, as have we.

Very tough road I agree but it’s not impossible. We are a huge club.

Every week the national sides post about our away following, or the home gate or whatever. We are visible.

Villa owners are worth serious money and spending big though. Their wage bill was the 6th highest in the PL last season I’m sure I read, higher than Spurs. With that kind of spending and a slight glimpse of potential success more fans come back as we’ve seen up the road. Who knows what’s possible for Sunderland long term would be nice to see the SoL full again, the town lively before/after matches and Sunderland playing at the highest level.

think he’s just summarising as he’s not actually working today due to his paternity leave
You mean he's in a huff knowing Newcastle aren't signing anyone and refuses to be outside the AOL knowing we are going to be super busy haha.

Oh aye. I’m not saying it’s easy, I’m not saying it’s likely or even plausible at this stage.

Impossible though? Absolutely not.

What’s to say we get to PL and an American billionaire isn’t banging on the door. We have massive profile in the US already.

More league titles, more FA Cups, more League Cups. Played in Europe numerous times.

It’s not even close but who really cares?
One more league title and, even during the club's greatest spells, we were never a cup side. Villa and Sunderland dominated the league in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. Couldn't get two more closely matched sides. Both clubs have had their ups and downs since then but it doesn't change the fact that both are similar clubs with similar histories.

On principle, **** Milan.

Anyway I’ve been and it would bankrupt us all the price of a beer.

Florence is my family home and it’s stunning.
Agree with you on Florence mind, don't like Milan myself. No one tells visitors about the little ghetto types sheds on the side of the autostrada on the ring road

Was there a couple of weeks ago and it was ****ing HOT.

Aye it gets mental hot mate, surrounded by hills.

The most beautiful place though, we drove from there to Siena (where my Nanna is from) and the drive and views were just staggering.

Folk of Sienna were not too keen on the English like, pretend they can’t hear you. It’s beautiful though. Also had the best Ravioli I’ve had in my life there.

On a break at the races. So nothing officially announced yet for our incoming transfers?

They’ve got a few hours. Best get a move on.
