This feels like a ‘level up’ signing from his pedigree.

Rennes, Monaco, Zenit (and Lyon wanted him…).

**** resume? Rennes and Monaco are 2 of the finest producers and developers of footballers in the world. That’s factual.

Zenit & Lokomotiv perennial European contenders prior to the war.
He looks quick too.

I’ll happily debate this mate.

These bad owners. How many £15million players did we have before they arrived? We have at least 4 now aye?

How much did the entire club cost 2 years before KLD took over?

The academy was in danger of losing its star rating.

Stadium was looking tired as ****.

Template kit with woeful commercial value.

Chris Maguire ‘star man’.

League One ‘playoff contenders’, yep, not champions…

Tell me how this ownership and recruitment group have failed us again?
I have never said they haven’t made good decisions and of course we are in a better position than when they arrived. however 18 months without a competent striker, the black cats bar humiliation and selling your best player for relative peanuts is not good management.

Selling Clarke cheaply so we can get a striker is not good management. Keep our best player (which we can do as he is under contract) and sign a couple of good strikers is.

if the ownership had shown some balls like Ipswich’s owners we could have been picking off players instead of having our pants pulled down.

hopefully the new lad does the business.

I can’t imagine mate, they may just be those that like to have a moan, “it’s a boy”, “ffs I wanted a girl”. When that war is won, they will be happy, it’s just the losing battles in between that people need to get used to.

Blimey, this thread was a tough old read this morning!

Welcome Wilson. Looks like a good acquisition on paper.

Shame about Clarke leaving, he has been superb for us. Not sure why folk are getting all hot and bothered about the deal price quoted by some daft twitter fella. Why would anyone divulge the details to him? It benefits nobody. Guesswork on his part. The point for me is the deal is done, we will be happy with it or it wouldnt be done. Now we go again.

One perspective which may have been made in amongst all the tit for tat. We have Mundle in the squad. I know Spurs coaches absolutely loved him. He might take a bit of time, but he could well be the next star now he has a chance to shine. Oh, and when we sell him for £20m in 2 years time we wont be giving Spurs a penny :1980_boogie_down:. Thanks for all your efforts Spurs, now we will reap the benefits of your efforts <laugh>

I wasn’t all that humiliated by the BCB thing, despite folk trying to make it a massive deal.

Selling a player so the club is self funding buying more players is absolutely good business.

Look at the fire sales at Leeds and Burnley. Nobody outside PL spends without sales.

Ipswich got a great gaffer and momentum. Credit to them. They still play in a **** hole stadium and are buying players from the Championship.

How many of Ipswich players from last season were you jealous of and would have put straight in our first 11?

It’s relevant to what I was asked. Some won’t have a word said against the owners.

let’s just hope they use the Clarke money wisely.
So how would you run the club then since our owners are so bad?

Btw im not saying they are perfect, no owners are. Last season was a joke and one that simply should not and can not happen.

Last summers window was poor, needed more championship ready players (types like poveda n browne)

Thats not bad owners tho, these lot have a plan and have taken us so far forward as a club its class. Yes last season was a disappointment but they are putting things right, in my eyes, this season. Theyve got a head coach that seems to fit the model better than any previous coach. Theyve signed experienced players to compliment the exciting players weve got. Theyve signed most of those exciting young players on good length contracts. Weve kept possible our best acadmey prospect, Rigg, of my lifetime despite there being interest from some huge clubs. We have nailed the shirts, got some cracking sponsorship deals in place now which will help us short n long term. We have upgraded the stadium, something most have been crying out for yrs.

We have sold a player (1 player, who hasnt left yet) for a huge profit. Fair enough if you think its a low fee but loads think its a good fee - transfer fees are so hard to gauge who got the best deal out of it until a few yrs down the line.

Not bad for bad owners

Yeah....but you didn't really mean it! You lost yourself in your own misery.
50 years a supporter but whatever.

we are all fans but some of us need to take off some of our red n white tinted glasses.

It’s a message board. Praise the owners when they make good decisions of course but selling the best player in the championship for £15m is very poor business. We are in this position because we are desperate for cash to sign a striker in a position we have desperately needed for 18 months.

I appreciate you won’t have a word said against the owners and of course you may have to sell, however,You sell at the highest possible price not cheaply because desperately need a striker.
You clearly don't know me then. Posted multiple times over the summer criticising and even calling for KS to be replaced.

The price is more than fair. He's not as good as Summerville, he's around the level of Rowe and Philogene who went for pretty similar fees. It's a fair deal.

How do you suppose we sign a striker of good enough quality without selling?

I appreciate you won’t have a word said against the owners and of course you may have to sell, however,You sell at the highest possible price not cheaply because desperately need a striker.

So, Wilson comes in and matches Jack stats, and the money rolled over for Šimić we get an asset worth £20million plus…

Then what? Was it still a **** move.

Jacky is not Phil Foden. He will be a relatively average PL player of that.

£15 million has not been confirmed. Same as Stewart fee was lowballed.

Selling clarke to improve the whole team is cracking management

Ipswich appointed an unreal head coach, thats what the owner did well but theyve also made a lot of mistakes

Not sure how they had balls n we didnt btw, they didnt spend loads to get promoted. They just landed on an unreal manager - hopefully weve done the same
