£20m plus more than likely a few million from the sell on clause is great business for a championship winger.

Just because PL clubs are cooking the books selling players for ridiculous fees to each other doesn’t mean that’s the rate we sell at, as a second division club. Adam Wharton went for £18m earlier this year and he’s a full England international already at the age of 20.

Why did no other clubs offer £16m if he's such a bargain at £15m.

I'm not being difficult mate, I can see you're upset which is fine.

I'm just saying clubs weren't fighting to sign Clarke.

He failed last time in the PL, that's not a good pedigree to attract more bids.
Because they were all queueing up to pay £30m Smug, come on mate, you know how it works........in some people's heads anyway :emoticon-0105-wink:

Social media comments are ridiculous, i love having a wee look to see the meltdown of the minority of our supporters

Seen people saying they are done with the club n wont be back (even tho clarke has still chosen to leave us - i have no issues with him wanting to leave)

The usual of the owners lacking ambition, such a boring argument. Id argue that sell a player to reinvest in the squad is showing they are trying to do something to take us forward.

That mundle is useless, those same supporters said the EXACT same thing about Clarke at the start

A couple have said we should chant clarke's name throughout the game against Burnley - cracking idea that like

I loved watching Clarke n i hope he smashes it but our club is cracking position to kick on - the big reason is RLB seems to be a very good manager

Quick panel.
All terms he wanted were met by the club. You’ve said otherwise. It’s untrue and mischief making.
The deal was all verbally agreed and Jack was happy with it.

First fella cancelled mate.

Shame he didn't sign it and was sold , like I said then.

How much did we sell him for? YOU DONT KNOW
You don’t know either. It’s being reported £15m upfront. If it’s £15m it very poor. If it’s £25m it’s good business.

im not sure what’s wrong in that view. I think some won’t have any criticism of the club imho. Il does as some wish s as nd **** off with my views.

Wanted to stay away from this side of things but anyway

Clarke had accepted an offer from us to my knowledge and was happy but was desperate for PL football and it was better for his party to wait until after the TW to sign it incase someone came in like Ipswich have.

he wants to go play PL football
Only thing I’d dispute there is that, whilst he is desperate to play in the Prem, it didn’t have to be this season. He would have waited if it had played out that way.

What do you think of 20 million plus a sell on clause?

Find to criticise the club but folk will still challenge your thoughts tho. Like you are doing with people being positive - works both ways

Also when you bring up stuff like BCB thatll always get folks backs up, thats in the past n the club have dealt with it

Am I missing something in regards to the fee? People are hung up on it being X up front or whatever but as we’ve seen more often than not transfer fees are just a number to keep the books right. As long as £20m goes into the clubs pot we can reinvest an amount based on that, it’s not like your average Joe waiting for his mam to chuck £20 in the bank before he can spend it?
My gripe would be less about add ons and more about it being about 15 mill altogether after they take their cut. They take their cut of add ons as well as straight up fee.

Thats just how deals are structured now though mate. Rarely does anyone pay the full fee up front when it’s a sizeable amount. The main thing is we’re getting a decent fee plus what seems like “easy to hit” add ons. It makes no odds to us, the fee will show on the clubs accounts and free up funds to spend. I doubt KLD is sat there refreshing his NatWest online banking app waiting for the money to drop in before we can go and sign a replacement..
