The problem is that those posters post the same point often 10 times a day. Its become a real echo chamber and, for me, the board has been ruined which is a shame. On this board you can get people who are critical of the club but debate is allowed.
Yip the same points made over and over again. Long gone are the days of good debate and humour, it's an absolute **** show now. Sad really as there's some great lads on there.

You don’t know either. It’s being reported £15m upfront. If it’s £15m it very poor. If it’s £25m it’s good business.

im not sure what’s wrong in that view. I think some won’t have any criticism of the club imho. Il does as some wish s as nd **** off with my views.

Be specific - there was only one club offering a purchase. There was not a bidding war.

Can only see a scenario of getting more for JC, if we had waited towards end of window and Ipswich may have panicked and paid more. But then we would have been in panic mode ourselves to replace him with goal scoring strikers.

I prefer the scenario that has played out of taking a competitive fee (the only one on table) and buying 2/3 strikers that look like they are ready to sign.

Don't bring that into it mate.

Introducing facts when people are furious is like waking up a sleepwalker ...

... you just get a bad reaction.

Nick Barnes is an absolute tosser BTW, I'd give him a life ban from the club <doh>
This would also mean if fees become anymore outrageous, we will be laughing in terms of extra income.

Always sad to see good players leave and there is no doubt Jack will be a huge loss and hard to replace, not sure what the club has done wrong here though looking at some of the comments. In little over a year we have pulled in over 35 million for 3 players which is almost unheard of from our club! Shows we are recruiting well and will be sustainable like we were told from the start. We will lose more players probably but until we get back to the premier league clubs will pick of our talent, its how we reinvest that bothers me and I will judge at the end of the window.
I think its stinging a few that its Ipswich who have took him, would we have the same reaction if it was a Villa or West Ham or Brighton ?

My gripe would be less about add ons and more about it being about 15 mill altogether after they take their cut. They take their cut of add ons as well as straight up fee.

I get that mate it’s not ideal but at the end of the day we knew that when we made the deal to sign him. We can’t really sit here and ask Ipswich to pay another £5m because Spurs are owed a cut and we feel hard done by. We’re still £15m better off than we were and that’s a fair bit of coin at this level as long as reinvest wisely that’s the main thing. We all knew we had to sell someone to progress and we can only sell players that people have an interest in.

As I mentioned with Wharton being £18m, for every player we think is worse than Clarke yet gone for a higher fee there’s also plenty who are much better than him and gone for less.

If we only lose JC what’s the issue, all the terminal whingers said we’d lose the lot because of the’model’. All have extended their contracts barring DN who we have made captain. Chill out and enjoy Mundle, Poveda and any new signings.

Some people love nothing more than stamping their feet without looking at the bigger picture.

The club have made absolutely no secret of the fact that they want to buy high potential players and increase their value.

It’s never nice seeing quality players go, but it happens at every single club in the world.

That’s the point- if we had owners who would invest in a striker or two we wouldn’t be in this position. We could play hardball and hopefully a bidding war would take place as nd we get a good price if or clarke or if not we keep the best player in the championship and have areal go for promotion. The lack of investment is the key and it will cost the club more in the long run.

il take the advice and **** off now.

I dont know, correct, and neither do the media, and neither do you, just let it go, anyhow, wasted enough time trying to get it to sink in that we dont know how much we got and its not worth fretting about, enjoy your day and the 3 points tomorrow

Quick question. If everything was agreed and he wanted to be here past this window. Why didn't he sign the contract?
He was advised not to (Harte presumably had some positive chats with Ipswich though I’m guessing on that part and Jack wasn’t told that was the case), he was told to let the window play out and that it could still be signed at the start of September. It was a last minute decision. Heads of terms had been signed and everything, contract wise, properly drawn up by the lawyers or whoever does that side of things.

I’ve said more than I’m comfortable doing but as I say, I’ll always call out misleading info when it has the potential to cause mischief amongst the fanbase.

Spot on, some focus on the few transfer fees that are higher than Clarke n say we should be getting the same. What folk forget is you arent just paying for the player they are now but also the potential of that player. Clarkes will be lower than someone like Summerville as summerville has done it in the PL

Zarouy is a hughly talented LM n he was sold for half the price that Clarke was sold for

20 million is market value imo

Now its what we do with it

Dear oh dear. Some need to wake up with these owners.

we have sold the best player in the championship for peanuts to buy a striker.

if we have to sell £25m should have been the price.

we are all entitled to lord opunuion by the way.

Is it Northumberland Rocks or are you Newcastle Rocks on a wind up? How much was our squad worth when they came in? Probably about a third in total of the fee we got for Clarke. If we kept him and we didn't go up, his value will have dropped dramatically this time next year, as he would only have had 1 year left on his contract.
I don't call a 3,000% profit on a player bad business.

Nobody in the championship is buying without selling. Just not how championship football works.
