How about Newcastle who haven't won a decent trophy since 1955 who've sold two decent players and only signed 4 nondescript players.
Two are back up keepers and the other two won't start tomorrow ...
... oh yeah, and they're owned by murderers.

Probably in the minority, but I’ve been to a few talk ins with Speakman, and I actually think he’s a likeable bloke. We need a striker, he said he gets that and wants a striker. Not sure what parameters he’s working within, and why it keeps proving so elusive but I’d take him over a De Fanti character all day every day.It's very strange how Speakman has become so hated, really is.
However, if i had to choose between him being liked by A) Talented players, who may become good enough for the top half of the PL or B) A bunch of people on chat forums who've never spent any meaningful time with him ... I'll go for Plan A.
It's not just the signings either. If people really believe Speakman and the coaches are so dismal how on earth do they believe Patterson, Neil, Rigg, etc, are developing, watching clips on Youtube? Why are clubs like Man Utd so keen to allow their players to come here on loan if the coaching is so dreadful.
But no logic or reason will change people's minds ...

Of course he his. He's structuring the club professionally, you can see that by some of the roles that pop up. He's also hell bent of the Strategy and the people he thinks help to deliver it. That's what that fella at man u, formally newcastle Brighton England has done so well.
If that's where your knowledge lies mate, it's not the greatest of opinions, doesn't matter what league they come from

The thing is though, if he signs and scores loads of goals his value will go up imo - he has only just turned 30 and could still have another 6-7 years ahead of him.

my only ‘dig’ is we don’t have a senior centre forward. Other than that I’m really impressed with everything the club is doing and there’s still time for my one problem.

For what it's worth, I can see the positives and I can see the negatives, of seemingly having most of our eggs in the Mendy basket.
But given so many have touted lads from Scotland or League 2, just shows there's an agenda.
