It wasn't the first offer, it was the highest any club would pay.

Definitely. Doesn’t look like he’d be comfortable out wide

I'm not the one moaning about the price, it's you that is using the reported £15m as a stick to beat the club with

A bit of a throwback number 9. The Salzburg system is a midfield diamond with two strikers who have to drift out wide to provide width so it didn't really suit his game

Harte is a total money grabber.

Does anyone believe he'd have settled for less than Clarke is worth.

Just because Sunderland accepted the bid Harte/Clarke was under no obligation to leave.

But that's enough facts for the moment ...

... I'll stand aside and let wild speculation have a turn <laugh>

Gutted about Clarke but it was inevitable, I honestly think the agent is mostly to blame, the player looked happy and performed like a player enjoying his football.

I think £15m+£5m is a steal honestly and Ipswich have done well to get that deal, I think he has a very decent chance to prove himself at that level and even in the event of an Ipswich relegation they should be able to make a small profit on him, if that's what they choose to do.

For Ipswich not SAFC. So if someone offers you a crap price for your house do you just accept it? We have accepted it because we need the money to buy strikers.

If we had owners like Ipswich who had some balls we wouldn’t be in this situation.

if it wasnt for these owners we wouldn't have had Clarke in the first place
be in the Championship attracking better calibre of players than Will Grigg, Kyle Lafferty and George Dobson

I don’t disagree with what you are saying. If it was £20 to £25m with add ons I think that’s acceptable.

the problem for me without sounding like a broken record is we have accepted a low offer because we need a couple of strikers in. If the owners had shown some balls snd invested in a couple of strikers we may have got £25m next week when premier league clubs go mad.

Once again, show me a club buying players of an adequate level who have not sold someone first. Show me.

Your question is irrelevant. We don’t need to sell Clarke. He is under contract for two years. We have taken a cheap offer because we are desperate to buy strikers.

if the owners had bought strikers we could have held out for more money for Clarke.

I must be one then, because although it wasn’t what I’d have done it wasn’t a major **** up to me. I also look for the positives in what KLD & co are doing(of which they far out way the negatives).
Just for clarity I’ve never chowed a cheb end.
