I think he’d probably have been okay/good at championship level. on a tangential observation do you reckon he was our worst well liked player? He seemed generally popular despite being mostly useless for us or is that revisionist memory based on swapping him for Defoe?

Probably liked for leading the line against the Mags in the 3-0 win.

Ipswich after Clarke

18m bid.
40% sell on clause

not paying any attention to that story. Can’t even do simple maths. Says Sunderland won’t get back the money we paid for him despite also saying the fee would be £18m and the sell on 40%. So we bought him for over £11m did we? Righto.

Much like he wanted nothing to do with Burnley last summer, I don’t think it’ll be a good move for him.

I’m not so sure, I think someone like Ipswich will be perfect for him. He needs to go somewhere he’s going to play most games and that’s not going to happen with someone like a Palace/Brighton. Even Forest have Hudson Odoi and Elanga who are both better than him. Ipswich will be the surprise package next season I reckon, im expecting the other 2 promoted teams to go straight back down but Ipswich have a fighting chance.
