Williams has just never done anything has he? Literally. No goal, no assist, can't remember him ever even having a 'nearly' moment or coming close to creating anything. He's supposedly really quick but the last few weeks we've relied on him off the bench when we've been hanging on in games and he's done nothing to get us up the pitch on the break or anything.

Longman on the other hand held his own personal goal of the season competition last year. There's absolutely no comparison.

To be honest, I don’t think either are ready for regular starts in this league, if we are looking at a promotion push. However, they are both decent footballers, with potential. I like Williams in the sense that he’s attack-minded, and although Longman lacks pace, there’s definite quality there.

Both certainly aren’t bad options coming off the bench, but I suspect they would want/need regular games. Short-term loan moves could be good for them both, if we have enough players available.

I guess hitting the bar in his last match doesn't count then?

Him on the left and Sinik on the right would be taking the piss. Another one I didn't realise played in Turkey, I think I put him forward as a potential signing when he was at Viking (Stavanger, not FM), he looked way too good for the Norwegian Premier League and he was only 20.

First Kosovan to play for Hull City if he signs.

There's certainly some very good technical players in the Turkish league. Been really impressed with what I've seen so far, the only difference is that you can buy them for 20/30% of the price a championship player costs.

Certainly going to be an interesting season, Sud’s made this point a couple times that if we were to go up this season we’d have to turnover the squad like Forest have. Quality wise the leagues the lowest it’s been for a while IMO. Only really been impressed with the Blunts so far but if they lose Berge in the next few they’ll fade. Good time to invest, would need serious investment if we went up though obviously but would effectively need nearly a new squad should the impossible happen this season
Do you think Acun will have a problem finding the cash though?

I don't.

I've a feeling Acun will have already sounded out other investors to come on board if we should go up. There have already been rumours that there are one or two backers in the background, but I've always felt there is an element of truth in that, but not until we get into the EPL.

I have no doubt that Longman is technically a really good player, but his consistency is awful. I’m really not sure what to make of him, one minute he looks great and then the next he looks like he’s way out of his depth.

I feel like he needs to be showing more more often if he’s going to stick around.

What you don't want is to make same mistake like with Bowler, Longman should be given the time he has the capabilities to be very good as we have seen and with time comes consistency.

I'm in both camps on Longman. This weekend was the perfect example. He should have saved us some stress at the end of that game and he fluffed his lines, BUT he did dare to make that brilliant run which many of our other 'back up' players wouldn't have done...

Next time he's on he'll either go missing completely or end up coming up with something out of nowhere that gets us a wonder goal. I'd certainly keep him around as an impact sub for the time being. He definitely has a lot of potential and it'd be great to see him realise it with us.

A player we only signed in January on a permanent should now be let go!!
christ

if Oscar doesn’t score a goal in December we’ll have some daft **** on here wanting him gone and maybe a new striker in in the Jan window

what’s the point of keeping someone who won’t even make the bench when our injury list returns to normal.
As well as Pelkas, there are two more incoming plus presumably Traore.

I think he's peaked already Chazz.

Might be better to get rid in this window.

I think that's harsh in the same way it was harsh when people were saying KLP used to "go missing". Attacking players can't realistically have an impact every single game - if they did they'd be Mitrovic-tier players. Defences will often prevail so you have to look at the overall body of work when judging attacking players: how often do they make an impact? Longman over the last year has done a fair bit I'd say. I think people forget how many really good quality goals he scored last season.

Yeah, I think given he has been out for a while, he needs a bit of slack cutting. He's got all the attributes to be at least a solid Championship player and let's not forget, he's still a young lad (21) the same age as Greaves. He proved he can do it last season, so let's give him some time.

Probably because he deserves his chance and he has been injured, it is also beneficial to have home grown talent as well as a large enough squad to ride out any injury setbacks.
