You gotta think of the brand value as well. Gate revenue may not have increased all that much, but fill the stadium and create hype around the club, and that'll surely affect other revenue streams like merch sales, sponsorship deals, tv revenue, higher caliber players wanting to come play for city (which in time you can turn into profit) etc.

Don’t think you can include merch sales. We don’t have any to sell.

This is a constant niggle for me, because age doesn't matter if you have talent. To me there's no such thing as a "good age", it's down to ability.

A 29 year old on a free transfer can be just as effective as a 25 year old who cost £3m. I know people like to imagine about future fees etc, but that's not money we have now and in a squad that is still rather lacking in experience, a 29 year old who has played for Norway could be a decent signing.
A 29 year Nick Barmby on a free was one of the best bits of business we’ve ever done.

PS Hahahahaha TWS!

Allams total wealth 300 million ish - ended up in the hole for 100 million ish. And that was before the Sky and other broadcasting monies went through the roof. ie City received more for being relegated than Man u received for winning the thing the previous season. Acuns total wealth 100 million ish.

I am not interested in FFP. Compliance, adherence to, call it what you will, more oppportunity for investment. I want a football club that has not been consigned to ground sharing with the local pub teams.

Acun's personal wealth is estimated to be that according to Internet chatter sites, but they're guessing. He controls a lot more wealth than that.

Derby would’ve been fine if they didn’t value their stadium the way they did in order to balance the books they were spending £5 million on Martyn Waghorn too

Derby fell foul of FFP because of that and incurred points deductions, but it didn't dump them in administration though. That was Mel Morris refusing to bankroll the club any further - though being prevented from using artificial means to spend his way to the Premier league probably had something to do with that decision.

Doesn't really matter if an owner has 38m or 380m to invest, they are all limited to 39m losses in any rolling 3 year period. Gate receipts will make a potential difference of a few million, but the way to sustainably fund a championship club without parachute payments - which make a phenomenal difference to revenue and therefore FFP cap is ultimately to develop and sell on players for a profit.

Merch is porentially a bit different. Most provincial clubs are limited to what they can realistically turn over by catchment area. Acun's reach in Turkey and elsewhere he has a high profile, and his plan to turn us into every Turk's second team means we have huge potential if that market can be tapped

Acun recently stated he wants to triple merchandise sales this season.

Anybody have any opinions who the young Premier league forward could be? For some strange reason I keep thinking Joe Hugill from Man Utd. What's other people's thoughts?
