Increased gate receipts might be questionable?

More memberships for sure but how many of them are children, some entering for free or for very small contributions? Added to that, match day ticket prices have dropped significantly.Crowds are up but I'm not sure the revenue will be substantially higher?

Derby would’ve been fine if they didn’t value their stadium the way they did in order to balance the books they were spending £5 million on Martyn Waghorn too

Chelsea have announced midfielder Ross Barkley has left the club by mutual consent and is a free agent.

Barkley, who has 33 England caps but has not played for his country since 2019, has not appeared for Thomas Tuchel's side this season.

The 28-year-old's last game for Chelsea was a 2-1 win over Watford on the final day of last season, when he scored a 90th-minute winner.

"We wish him well for the rest of his career," read a Chelsea statement.

Chelsea signed Barkley from Everton in January 2018 for £15m.

He has made 232 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, Aston Villa - on loan - and Everton, and has 29 goals and 28 assists.

Barkley made his Premier League debut for Everton at the age of 17, but his career has stalled at Chelsea.
    ...............
No doubt he can't sign him due to FFP and his £200k per week wages!

Allams total wealth 300 million ish - ended up in the hole for 100 million ish. And that was before the Sky and other broadcasting monies went through the roof. ie City received more for being relegated than Man u received for winning the thing the previous season. Acuns total wealth 100 million ish.

I am not interested in FFP. Compliance, adherence to, call it what you will, more oppportunity for investment. I want a football club that has not been consigned to ground sharing with the local pub teams.

We will soon have doubled the gates at the MKM compared to a year ago, but we didn’t half the prices to do that (other than child memberships). Gate receipts will be well up this season.

You think the Allams lost £100m from their time at City? I very much doubt that.

Not what I meant to imply. At the time of relegation from the prem, they were in the hole for that. That is not how it ended for them.

You are correct. The consistent note to the Hull City accounts during their tenure as regards a going concern was, "dependent on the parent company". Allamhouse. Whoever owned that.

Makes a difference at this level, but not at the level some may give credit for. Gibson at Boro charges silly money and responds to criticism by saying it’s how they consistently fund a competitive side

We were lucky in that sense as it meant they’d never liquidate us. Ask Derby fans if Mel Morris was using his own money, ask Wigan Bolton and Bury if their owners were using theirs.

They'll be up but even if we had 20,000 fans paying £300 a year, it's only £6m.

We clearly don't have that either with concessions so gate revenue isn't really a game changer

Gates were nearer 9-10,000 a year ago, which is what I said. They will be up towards 20,000 for Sheffield and hopefully beyond.

As for the junior memberships, I would think the majority are new members and new money, but that’s a guess to be honest.

To be fair to our new owner, his focus seems to be firmly fixed on attracting large crowds to create an atmosphere, rather than pushing for gate money.

Some kids come for free, some kids pay coppers for their membership, day tickets have been reduced from £27/£28 to £20,full adult memberships in almost all cases are less than last season,as are concessions.

It's credit to him for doing that and shows his feeling towards the fan base but of course it comes at a cost in revenue.

How are gate receipts shared between the two clubs?

And to extend that point, I think you can make a strong case for the larger and more vociferous crowds egging the side on to victory in all 3 matches so far - we aren’t winning on possession or xG, the crowd might well be the difference.

So investing in building crowd might end up getting us further up the table than we would otherwise be.

I agree entirely,he's trying to build a 'Hostile' (not in a nasty way) environment.Large crowds being more vocal is entirely his mindset in my opinion.Winning our home games and doing our best on the road seems to be the thinking?

May it continue with this weekend's huge match!!
