I suspect we won't always be going 3 at the back, but yes, if Smith is going out we may need more cover either way.
I'd have no problem keeping Smith as backup but he's going to develop better playing every week

It's crazy that's he's only 18, National League would be a great start this season. Maybe give him 6 months and see how he does

I think they're all a given, I'd throw in a CB too if we plan to play 3 at the back
He had a really good loan at Falkirk, can see him in League 2 personally. Matty Jacob will follow to that level if he gets fit and probably Jake Leake too

We've seen with Callum Jones how quickly a talented young kid can go stale.
On another note, Elliott Bonds has just signed a 2 year extension at Cheltenham and by all means was really good for them last year. He got that bad injury but he may turn out to be one that got away

Bench was strange tonight. I imagine Baxter, Jones, Longmann had nigles. But why no Wilks/Cannon? Can only assume both are nearing moves away
Maybe niggles too, it's always tough to tell in pre season. But if they have gone, we're going to have a right struggle to put 2 sides out at the weekend. Well, they'll be lots of young players involved.
We're already light in midfield and we probably need 2 additions there
