Walter confirmed that it's a young player who isn't on trial to be signed realistically, he's just making up the numbers in training.

Howdens got his gloves back on then eh?

Sorry, in all serious he's straight batting that one. You don't need to take someone on trial to make up training numbers. If he's a young player and not immediately for the first team then fair enough, but I'm not buying that explanation.

So can I still watch the games on a VPN if I can't go? Or is that no longer possible?
That's what I think will be the case, although the club haven't announced anything about how much it will cost or whether there'll be a season long deal like last time. I guess it's questionable whether a season long deal makes sense given how many games are on Sky (and available via NOW TV).

Are they 100% available on Now TV? During the Open I couldn’t get any of the red button stuff - and had to watch presenter chit chat because the live golf was only on red button for some early starters. Not a bonus stream in sight on Now.

Seems a bargain...

Hull City are set to confirm the signing of striker Brandon Thomas-Asante from Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion in what is a significant boost to Tim Walter's attacking options.
.
Not half....But odd one this for me...Why do WBA want rid of a decent striker for less than £2.5m? Unless they've already got a better replacement lined up. Maybe that's the case. Didn't they get a big injection of $$$ from some new US based owner.

West Brom fans seem a bit perplexed at the selling of their assets. They bought BTA for 300k from league 2 but Salford have a sell on clause. They are happy for the profit on him but seem disappointed to lose him.

Some also saying he’s not good enough for the Premier League so he would be shipped out if they got promotion and he only had 11 months left on his contract.

Seems like an all energy forward with a good personality and well like by the players. Definitely an upgrade on Connelly for me.

They've got major problems with their wage bill and Asante is in his final year.

I'm sure clubs do stuff like this all the time. Given that we're down to last season's 7th choice keeper to be on our bench, I don't think it's hard to imagine that we're light on goalkeepers for training.

Fans have heard about a keeper on trial and want it to be exciting news about a transfer. The manager has confirmed it isn't.

New owners can have all the money in the world but can’t spend it if FFP had been messed up by previous ownership.

Saying that getting around £3million for Asante and Yokosulu is really poor.

Gotta be honest I watched most of that thinking were making as many backwards passes as Liam got trounced for.

It's amazing how unconscious bias can affect how we see things differently, isn't it?

Agree there was a lot (too much) passing back, but what was thankfully missing was most of the ridiculous side to side passing across the back and with the keeper, and the keeper not standing with the ball at his feet for an eternity.

That said, it was still pretty boring and poor for 3/4 of the game. Had it stayed 0-2 I'm sure many would be saying the same. Thankfully we gave it a go last 20 or so, and / or they're substitutions weakened themselves too much.

Spare a thought for the Fiorentina fans, top team, play European football go on pre season tour. Lose to Preston, draw with Bolton and hull. Say who the **** are they in an Italian accent.

I love Jones but I've said for ages we've been wrestling with a Catch 22 of sorts where almost our entire Back 4 + GK was the same as won us League One, and were still competitive enough to justify their spot but not good enough for a promotion side. But it's hard to upgrade/improve upon your defence when they aren't the glaring weakness. Maybe we're finally biting the bullet.
Agree. And our best defender from those left us.
I hope you are right. We really could do with both of the rumoured CB's, not just for cover, but to have the 4 of them fight it out / keep each other on their toes.

I think it is, the games shown as televised are either on regular Sky or Sky+, and they are supposed to be available on NowTV (and that's what the Sky site says I'm pretty sure I remember). If it's a midweek game not in the TV schedule but available on the Sky red button then it won't be on NowTV
