On the going mad side, I wouldn't mind it, if and only if it's good money on long term signings that will improve us for multiple seasons
I guess I'd be alright with that, but I'd prefer us to do it in Summer and have a manager that can actually use the good players we have properly.
Is anyone? Rosie clearly wasn’t either given he elected for the entirely inexperienced Jacob over him
I think that's a myth that has massively grown legs. Giles was the preferred left back, but there was a spell where he came back from injury and didn't get straight back in because Jacob was doing well. That happens all the time with players coming back from injury but with Giles people really ran with it being a preference.
But Giles is a player who shouldn’t be able to be displaced by Jacob. Jacob did well didn’t stand out, given our lack of creativity a player like Giles should’ve been straight back in but he wasn’t. I think it’s because he’s not actually very good as a full back. He’s a wing back, can’t defend but got great delivery
As for the last bit, we haven’t seen a great deal of that either. Very rarely clears the first defender.
I see that a player we tried to sign years ago, Andre Gray, was picked up on a free by Plymouth in October, scored 2 goals last night for Watford. I’ve just checked & he’s on a short term contract until January, I’d assume they’ll pick him up for longer than as he’s already scored 3 in 6 games. Unfortunately he hasn’t playied in Turkey, so I guess that’s why we never knew about him being available.
Chelsea interested in Liam Chelsea eye move for Ipswich's Liam Delap, Liverpool and Arsenal battle for Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi, Joshua Zirkzee's Manchester United future in doubt. Ipswich's English striker Liam Delap, 21, is wanted by Chelsea after they cooled their interest in Newcastle and Sweden striker Alexander Isak, 25.
To be honest if there was no pathway for him to get a chance in the first team Man City might as well just **** their whole academy system off because it’s pointless.
Ironically he'd have got plenty of gametime if he'd have stayed this season after the sale of Alvarez and no replacement signed.
I said this. Delap’s potential is elite, it was clear to see for me. Ball striking, carrying, link up play, pace, power. He has it all
I think he is a prime example why you have to give young players time to develop. He was ****e at Preston according to PME fans, but a season later we could see what a talent he was. Not all flourish, but like Pueta and Kamara you can see shoots of a player in there.
