Was curious as to some of our former players and noticed that Leo Lopes is currently a free agent, I'd take him on a deal to the end of the season to cover the loss of Zambrano.

Last time out for us he didn’t so much down tools as bury them in two feet of concrete.

Not for me. I never want to see any of the lazy Bar stewards of the 8-0 loss to Wigan in a City shirt again

It's odd, he was one of our best players that season yet half the fanbase will tell you he's **** because he swapped shirts after the Wigan game.

Since we had Bowen and Grosicki for half of that season, I assume you aren't including them. Sorry but him and the rest stank the place out at Wigan and undid any of the good they had done previously. Leaves a sour taste for me. (Nothing to do with shirt swapping btw)

I thought he was a talented lad and he's still only 23 I think. I don't blame him for that 8-0 loss, the whole team gave up that day and expecting a 19 year old lad to somehow pick up the slack is ridiculous.

He was easily our best player that season after Bowen and Grosicki

Bowen ten out of ten tonight he’s worked his socks off everywhere , he’s very football savvy- Slater ought to watch him and gym it up he’s young enough .

Agree about Bowen. Slater is 27 and a little too old I think. Of course I may be wrong.

The whole team was to blame for that debacle - he was part of that team. You'd take him back - fair enough, that's your opinion - I wouldn't. For me, we need to be looking at better players than those who got us relegated last time

He was a pretty boy. Technically good but too lightweight for the championship.

He wasn’t ****. He was technically-gifted. He was also one of many to completely down tools.

I dare say, looking at our squad now, there’s a fair few who I think would do the same if we find ourselves in the same situation next April to May.

He was just about the only player still scoring goals in the second half of that season.

You also have to wonder why, after being a key player and starting most games for Cercle Brugge last season and the last few seasons for that matter, he was allowed to leave on a free transfer and nobody has signed him since his contract expired at the end of June.

Still in his mid-20s, no injury concerns as he’s started most games for the last three years but hasn’t found a new club in five months? I’d wager clubs and agents know something we don’t.

He was a proper player for us, but it seems like maybe he struggles with not being an automatic first choice.

I also think he’s not suited to the premier league yet. His skill set is odd, he’s not particularly creative, he’s not a top level dribbler but he’s an elite finisher. He won’t get the level of chances though at teams like Brentford
