The test of ambitions is an interesting one. We're yet to see how far Katharina's ambition extends - will we be after the same level of signings Cortese was, or will we aim more realistically with the other mid table sides?

I agree we need a striker (if not 2), a quality CB, GK (backup or understudy to Boruc - he's good enough to be 1st choice), and maybe an AM. Don't know about a winger, but I wouldn't say no if they were quality (not priority though).

I am a big fan of de Guzman, Swansea are unlikely to go down but maybe Villareal could be tempted with an offer

She may be advised that current players might start to want out if we don't show enough ambition in the transfer market.

They've been more than a bit lucky and Rodgers himself has got lucky by being forced to pick a formation through injuries which ended up working and has now adopted. He also give me the impression that he is scared of upsetting his senior players. I also think Skrtl has a forcefield around him that means referees are blind to his grappling and rugby tackling which should have cost Liverpool a massive amount of points already.

Perhaps he has been as lucky as Vic was in the first 10 games eh? :biggrin:
 
Todays newspaper rumours include Sergio Garcia (Espanyol) who at 30 does not seem a terribly good fit - probably just the MP link which has been mentioned before. Also 18 year old Adama Traore from Barcelona but only on loan.

I think both have been metioned before in the press.
 
I think I might become a nevous wreck if we spend £10m on Ings. We definitely need to go big on a striker, though.

Vic wasn't that bad in the first 10 games. I never said that. I just think Cork is a better player, not that Vic had a terrible first 10. Skrtl is more than lucky. Its shocking. I bet if Vic starts hugging every offensive player he sees he won't be as lucky as Skrtl.

Yeah I know, I don't really think we will go for him, it feels like an easy rumour to make up because he's English/young/from round here. If Burnley don't go up then he could go to one of the Prem relegation battlers next year. If we finish 8th and are looking up then I'm sure we can attract better strikers.

I wouldn't mind Ings but not for 10m. 7-8m which include bonuses would be my max.
