Vic wasn't that bad in the first 10 games. I never said that. I just think Cork is a better player, not that Vic had a terrible first 10. Skrtl is more than lucky. Its shocking. I bet if Vic starts hugging every offensive player he sees he won't be as lucky as Skrtl.

I wouldn't mind Ings but not for 10m. 7-8m which include bonuses would be my max.
you know just what I meant Impsaint...![]()
I think you won't be able to shake off your "Lovren" that easily![]()
Not biting thoughThink Liverpool have been uber lucky this season. Don't like Rodgers. Sometimes you just don't like someone.
The truth will out... as they say. You started with "don't rate" and ended with "don't like"
Not aimed at you so much Imp, but this is a classic example of something that happens a lot with football fans. The liking factor affects the rating factor.
I don't think Cork is good enough for where we want to go either
Despite what some people think, I believe that with the obvious exception of Lovren, our big money signings have been poor. I know it has been said that their very presence, "raises the bar" and that may be true but it is an expensive way to improve the players already at the club.
By contrast, by buying good players from teams at a similar level, and at sensible prices, we generally do well; Lambert, Rodriguez, Davis, Fonte, Puncheon etc. I reckon there are good English players out there who, with exposure to some top coaching, could break through to the next level. Add a couple of these to our youngsters breaking through and we could have a decent team.
Remember when we were desperate to sign a left back and we were gutted when we couldn't get Buttner!? Had we got him, Shaw could still be an under 21 player. Similarly, we were all shouting for a back-up right back which probably would have restricted Chambers' progress.
I realise that we need a balance and if a top quality player becomes available at the right price we should probably go for him. Nonetheless, I like the idea of a more home-grown strategy.
Do you think Rodgers would have Saints in 8th? And in reverse do you think Poch would have had Liverpool doing better?
