I really want us to get a striker who can give defenders nightmares by running in behind. Would lover Hernandez (as in the Man Utd one) but I think the key is unearthing somebody who is Champions League quality but recently off the boil and, as such, viable...

Anybody think Pato might be worth a punt on that basis?
Nope Pato is not up to it (mentally).

9 goals in 30 games for Corinthians but has been loaned out to Sao Paulo.

Point taken, next target then. My point is somebody who we know has the quality but maybe has been off the boil and needs a kick up the arse to get back there

There's this guy in Italy, I think he's called Dani something. No wait never mind.

Maybe a goalkeeper, as I still get nervous when the ball rolls to Boruc. Someone who can get wide and put in some decent crosses (Puncheon but with the final ball to go with the trickery). And finally, Saurez (not actually him obviously but it begs the question, how many more games would we have won this year with him in the side).

Not being greedy, quite happy otherwise as I still love the fact that we have the championship veterans in the side.

Take Liverpool's points tally, minus Southampton's point tally, then add another 10.

That is how many points more Suarez would have brought to us. Don't rate Liverpool or Rodgers but Suarez is World Class.

Begovic a realistic target maybe?

If Stoke go down yes, and if Swansea go down I'd take Michu. Not sure if any other potentially relegation candidates have players good enough for us to push on with though...?
I agree we need a striker (if not 2), a quality CB, GK (backup or understudy to Boruc - he's good enough to be 1st choice), and maybe an AM. Don't know about a winger, but I wouldn't say no if they were quality (not priority though).

I think Rodgers is doing an excellent job there in all honesty. He's really brought that squad together.

Astori (though I wouldn't be surprised it Liverpool snatch him like they did with Coutinho), Ince (available on a free in the summer) & Lukaku, plus a good back up keeper. Say goodbye to Guly, Hooivelt & Davis from a playing point of view.

Well they didn't do too badly without him (loss against us notwithstanding) at the start of the season when he was banned.

I think their midfield and strikers have been brilliant, but their defence is poor. Don't forget that Sturridge has had a rocket up his arse this season!

A small out ... Andy Robinson is on trial at Charlton, assuming his contract won't be renewed in the summer.

Should definately atleast try to go in for Hernandez, can't imagine he will want to be a sub forever. Especially as he is now fairly low down the pecking order for them.

I thought it was more of a physical problem. Doesn't he get injured/knackered all the time?

It's a bit of both. But more his mind set now, he never seems up for it. He has in the past suffered from depression and had time off football.
