Pixie. If we are dealing purely with facts here then you have to retract "with Suarez angling to force a move,". Suarez has never said that he wants to join Arsenal. Suarez has never said that he is going to try and take legal action. All of those suggestions have appeared in the media without one single quote.

And I don't mean to be repetitive but it was reported that he had permission to speak to Arsenal this time last week, it was obviously rubbish because it didn't happen but the answer was the same then; so what? And we were in our supposed weakened position that week too

Arsenal can promise him a harem and some ice pops if they come back with a bid to us that we don't except Suarez doesn't get his ice popped ladies.

Again; no matter how many times opposition fans say Arsenal or Suarez have the upper hand it's just simply not true. Neither has the power to say yes or no: we do.

It's pure speculation how annoyed he is, or what he'll do to push for a move. Apparently our club is so arrogant it'll take a torrent of abuse during the Evra incident and hold firm despite enormous pressure from every angle but yet will crumble at Suarez folding his arms and stamping his feet? Really: same club: same owners?

It's the same as last week and the week before. It'll be the same next week; show us the money......

But by all means continue with your wet dream fantasies.

    So much bollocks and speculation..lol

As far as I see it, we dont have to sell.

If he kicks up a fuss, **** him, chuck him in the reserves and let him rot. We dont want him playing for someone else in the prem, so unless a European team comes in with a bid, it aint happenning. Fed up of crappy young journalists trying to use one of our players to make a name for themselves.

All these storys are from junior journos at London papers using sensationalist **** to try and satisfy their wannabe ambitions.

Suarez has said nothing. His actions are that of a man a bit pissed off. But until he hands in a transfer request ill give him the benefit of the doubt. When he does hand in request then we chuck him in the reserves and let him rot.

I agree that 'direct quotes' are thin on the ground, but don't you think that Liverpool would have simply dismissed it out of hand by now if Suarez wasn't angling for a move ?

Suarez looks pissed-off because he is. He's probably been told in no uncertain terms that he ain't going nowhere and that if he does put in a written transfer request it will be rejected and he will rot in the reserves.

Rodgers has already stated that we will not be caught in the Torres type panic by last minute bids.

As far as I know, the only statements by Suarez were those made in Uruguay before the Confederations Cup when he said about wanting to play CL football and inferred that he'd like to play for Madrid.. After that we've had loads of unattributed 'briefings'.

I think what we are seeing now is Liverpool playing hardball with Saurez. But Rodgers is tempting Wenger by saying that if he is going to increase his offer then it had better be by a considerable amount based on the Bale valuation AND he better do it this week.

I think you're right about the Uruguayan radio quotes. Although he didn't mention Madrid in those interviews, only that he wanted to play CL football. If we're talking about quotes, inference is out of the equation.

Of course Rodgers is going to play hard ball, which is an indication that Suarez wants out, and of course he has to get the best price for his player - he wouldn't be doing his job properly if he wasn't.

I don't envy him, and contrary to what you might think, as a Gooner I take no pleasure in seeing Rodgers and Liverpool having to fight to keep their player. **** knows we've been there before on plenty of occasions with our players, but I think you have to be realistic about the situation.

They were outside the title race even with RVP in his prime banging them in. If Santi Carzola leaves to make way for funds then they wouldn't improve by much at all.

that would be a massive loss to them, they only scored 2 goals less last season than the season before when they had RvP and yes, there was no title challenge with RvP but I think they realise Suarez is just a better player than RvP, even though he was hated last year he still was voted as better. Suarez just offers so much more and creates far more space. I don't doubt he would have had the golden boot too without the ban.

Of course we'll all have to wait and see what actually happens. However, I see the hand of John Henry behind Liverpool's stance on this issue. If that is so then the more usual football responses to players power-plays evokes a finance based backlash. Just as with Levy/Modrich, we now have Henry/Suarez. When you strip away the media hype there's only 1 winner in such a battle of the cojones - and it ain't the footballer!

But neither dismiss the idea that Suarez is angling for a move, which was why you posted the links in the first place.

Whether or not it happens remains to be seen and as Arsenal are the only club who are in for him, if he does go then Arsenal seem like his likely destination. I know you don't want him to go, but ultimately if it comes down to the last day of the window are Liverpool really going to turn down 4Om for a player who simply doesn't want to be there ? It might sound like a good idea to let him rot on the bench out of principal, but at the end of the day, you can use that cash to rebuild and I think that's what the owner and manager will opt for.
