Only just heard his full interview with RH. Honest words, took a lot of responsibility and praised the fans, finally.

Ridiculous? Let's take a look shall we?

The stated aim when the Allams took over and hired Steve Bruce was to get into the Premier League within three years. Remember that? As everyone knows, Bruce waved a magic wand and did it almost straight away. But here we are pretty much back where we started again at square one, only now, Bruce is looking at a host of players leaving and the rest taking a serious pay cut. Hull City is in disarray.

The task now is to build one of the three best Championship sides, which alone is a huge task to accomplish, not least given that there is just a handful of players to rebuild around. The Championship is no push-over and it is a tall order to get re-promoted in May 2016.

And even if City could win their just third ever promotion to the top English league, the task following is to convert the Championship side into a viable Premier League team - something Hull City have failed to do in their last two attempts.

Steve Bruce said he was considering withdrawing last autumn, and you have to be pretty thick-skinned not to see he is in quite a state. My guess is that Steve Bruce is burned out, and burn out can be chronic. When that happens by far the best thing to do for everyone's sake is to step aside. He's a nice enough fella, and I'm sure he'll discover there is a fine life after a career in the spotlight. Steve Bruce isn't the man to take on the huge task presumably facing Hull City.

SB is the best guy to get us back up, chances are now the Allam's need to get the club back into the EPL so they can get their money back, as they seem to trust Bruce, so are likely to back him in this quest. So it looks as if we will have to put up with all this ****e for a while longer.

I'm undecided about SB staying on. Some people say it was the players who let him down, but who's job was it to motivate the players and get the best out of them? On the other hand he's got a good track record of getting team's promoted from the Championship. On balance if he's up for the job and not as burned out as he looks then it's probably better to give him another chance - after all, who is available that has a better track record?

Pattie, for clarity, when SB praised the supporters he didn't mean you. He thinks you're a ****.

Bruce has a good record for getting clubs out the Championship, so I can see why people would want him to stay.

On the other hand, he's been absolutely rubbish for over a year and if he does get us back up, I don't think he's good enough to manage in the Premier League, so we're just delaying the problem.

    I'm largely indifferent.

In the Championship you either need a good young manager (Dyche, Howe etc) but is a bit of a gamble. Or, an experienced head who has been there and done it before. There aren't many of them about though: Alladyce, Mccarthy and Bruce.

But has Bruce lost the dressing room? Sounds like the out-of-contract players (bar Alex Bruce) are happy to leave. The players performances this season say a lot - putting the effort in only when it is desperately needed.

I hope Bruce swallow some pride and has 1-to-1s with every player and offers to wipe the slate clean and we start again fresh in the Championship, looking to keep the majority of this squad together.

I'm going to jump on this for two reasons.
    1 Tackticle is a brilliant **** up.
2 Fans always say this about managers who have had a lifetime in football. 17 years as a manager 20 years as a player, 8 of them as captain under the greatest manager this country has ever had. Yet you think he's got zero tackticle know how.

We were all over Leicester, Jelavic missed the sitter of the season. They were truly shocking, how they went on that run I will never know.

burnley we were cowards. The team were prepared by Phelan to go out and beat Burnley. They completely bottled it.

We need a clear out. Keep some, sure, but some of the original bunch from our last promotion are not the future, they're the past.

We need a more youthful team, with Daws as Captain, keep Elmo, Greegsy is fine for goal, hang on to Robertson, Brady, Chester if we can, tell them a season winning games on slightly less money then a promotion is more fun than a season struggling at the bottom of the PL again with another team.
