Quite apart from the fact that he considered stopping last autumn, Steve Bruce looks terrible on the BBC post match interview. He's doing nobody any favours, least of all himself, and should step aside straight away. He'll feel much better for it after a week or so.

He does look ill at times but I hope he stays to rebuild us. If we stayed up then maybe you could question it but there is nobody better to bring us back up, his track record in the Championship is impeccable and thats what we need. Maybe he should take a few weeks off in a health farm first though

So we keep him even if the club appears to have gone completely stale under him and, barring a small number of league performances and FA cup games last season, we have been in a complete tailspin and on a solid downward trajectory for nearly 18 months?

But we should keep him? OK then.

He does look to be in a shocking state of health. He really needs to do something or his heart will pack up.

take a look around, if Brucie wants to stay and has the appetite for it then for me there are no better options at present, the guy took us to our best position last year in he premier league, and a first ever FA cup final, the season before he took us up automatically, the first and only manager in our history to achieve this into the top flight. He has been badly let down by some of the senior players who need to take a look at themselves (Thudd, Livermore, Davis and Macgregor I really hope your reading this), then hit by injuries at crucial times of the season. For me if the man still has the appetite for the job then he stays.

Everyone keeps banging on about our Cup Final appearance.
Whilst it was amazing let's not forget the easy draw we kept getting and we still nearly managed to **** it up.
Our league form is dreadful and to miss staying up by 3 points/ one lousy win shows how poor we are.
We never deserved to stay up, couldn't beat the teams around us.
I think Bruce will have a couple of weeks away to give it some serious thought whether he wants to carry on, wouldn't be surprised if he did quit.

No truer word been said.

Yeah but who did we beat to get to the cup final?. And highest position last season so what about this season stop been sentimental he isn't up to the job we need a change to freshan up the team and to move forward but first and most importantly allams need to go as we are in free fall.

On one hand, Bruce has a good record in the Championship and he attracted the likes of Aluko, Quinn, Meyler and Elmo to the club while in the Championship - players who are very good Championship players.

On the other hand, Nigel Pearson had already created a good spine of a team with the likes of Brady and Chester, and it seems like Bruce has fallen out with/pissed off most of the players we'd want to keep - horrible thought that McShane, Quinn, Rosenior and Davies will all go. All players who would have us at the right end of the Championship.

Just have a feeling that while a lot thought Bruce jnr was a problem with some of the squad as the season unravelled feel that Huddlestone and Livermore may have been a bigger problem.

You should do one for this ridiculous thread.

Think some of you need a new hobby for a bit. It seems a bit unhealthy some of the comments you read on here. Like Bruce. Have a holiday!

Carry on Steve. Been a soft geordie he trusted and put his faith in players who took the piss or sulked and let him down. His mistake was carrying on trusting them.

Curtis money grabbing feckless **** Davies.
Tom its too easy for me i dont have to try Huddlestone
Jake ive got personal problems i know how i'll deal with it Livermore

Spine of the team that let us down.
