I was looking at the odds for their next manager as I assumed we’d be looking at similar names.

I don’t think we will as they have the obvious Portugal connection so most of the favourites in the betting won’t be linked with us I think.

Lopetegui seems the strong favourite atm

Yeah, not going to be similar. There’s is a raft of the Portuguese great, good, and not so good.

Steve Cooper. Suits us well, will be allowed to get on with the job, is aligned with the philosophy and has worked with Crocker previously.

Better options out there IMO. Cooper doesn't fill me with excitement.

If Ralph goes, I hope that whoever we bring in actually wants to develop young talent and has good experience in doing so, rather than being forced by the club. Would be sad to see Ralph go but it's understandable why at the same time; plays well against big teams and generally failed to pick up points against teams around us which is incredibly frustrating. Wouldn't be surprised if we got a point from City thinking about it :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Adding to the Steve Cooper speculation, wasn’t he the England u17 coach when Crocker was head of development for the FA? You’d think they must have had some sort of working relationship and Crocker knows what he’s all about

Slightly disturbing that some of the Forest fans want to swap Cooper for Ralph, but then again, fans…you can’t trust ‘em…

TBF I can see some sense in that. Ralph's certainly more proven at this level than Cooper.

I think the outside perception of Ralph is that he is a very good manager and too good for us.

Despite our awful run I haven’t seen too many national articles about how poor it’s been, however when we were doing well there were quite a few about how great he is.

As mentioned multiple times, nobody cares about us so unless you wanted to specifically look at him/us you may not realise quite how bad the run has been. Most fans will just remember when the BBC were talking about “Klopp of the Alps” and think he’s doing a good job. If he is sacked I’d expect there to be lots of “Wtf are they doing” type comments coming out

This is Saints we are talking about. We already know that any replacement will be one that 90% of fans wont have heard of.

Agreed, but then maybe the reverse is also true, and we rate Cooper higher than we should.

I don’t know anything about Cooper but the Crocker link is what makes me think it could happen if he is sacked by Forest.

Or maybe they are right and Ralph really is too good for us and we have a **** squad.

Genuinely still can’t rule that out tbh

That was my position last season. But for once, it seems every one of our new additions seem to have improved the squad, so we can’t really say that anymore. What we can say, is that it is reasonable to allow time for the new players to bed in. Which is why I’m not Ralph Out yet. I’m not passionately Ralph in either btw.
