Hughes came along at some difficult moments…. and interesting possibilities. And I agree, we’re not minnows and I don’t think survival each year should be our goal. I just think that this idea of us having a limited squad with zero spend and at the same time wanting a trendy exciting manager to play attacking football are incongruous. Personally I think with the addition of a 10 goal a year striker the squad should be mid table.
Cooper did a brilliant job with Forest from the moment he joined until the moment they got promoted. It was built on exciting attacking football and an incredible team spirit. Then the owners went mad with transfers and the team spirit was gone in an instant. And any manager would find it hard to get an almost entirely new XI to get the tactics straight away. Real tough job for him, given everything he’d done before and the hand they then dealt him this season If he gets sacked would I want him? Not first choice but I’d not be unhappy either. Think he’d absolutely buy into our project
I still can’t see it. Austrian league to Premier League I get, but Champions League to relegation battle? Why risk it?
I recall it was big 'no thanks' to the idea of Eddie Howe from most on here. And of course it would have been a big 'no 'thanks' to David Moyes prior to him taking the West Ham job. English-named managers just aren't fashionable enough.
Just seen this on Facebook. I’d like a pipeful of whatever he’s on! “Ok. So my friends in Sports media reckon a deal to Bring in Tuchel is being made and will make him the highest paid manager in the premier league. Sports republic will spend a minimum of 200m in the January transfer window brining in Tollliso from Bayern amoungst others which is why Ralph is staying until the agreements are made to ensure Tuchel and certain players all arrive early January - according to German Journalist Max Bielefeld”
Yeah I could really do with a pipeful of something really good right now! cements Facebook as bottom of the barrel. Close run with Twitter
