Like most on here I've not got a scooby what's going on. All I do know is that it's taken over our lives. In the meantime we've got to get out of this league thuis season
I’m not a huge fan of social media, even though I’m on it a fair bit, but I just cannot understand why people are giving SD grief on Twitter. The bloke is clearly working his bollocks off to try and sort this out and muppets are throwing FSQ’s at him left, right and centre. The mind fkn boggles.

Its taken over his life imo. I'm sick of muppets criticising him for things that are pure guesswork. They know nothing about him, but know everything.

Well I’ve just listened to his interview and I’m far more reassured.

“CM wrote in the programme notes at the start of the season explaining the situation. The deal was worth £40m to Ellis as he received £15 million and then didn’t have to pay £25 million (to SBC).”

The part about Short reducing the purchase price by £3 million is in a Roker report podcast from May.

Finally, confirmation that the total purchase price was £37 million is here.

Good digging

They are replacing the £25m over time. It is owed to the club. Explanation starts here but that point is about 1 hour 29 minutes in...

Not very many and to be fair we don't hide. It's good to see so many new posters (or maybe people have just changed their names?) but for those that don't know me try not to assume that as a mag I've got a downer on all things SAFC.

I sometimes think you actually support Sunderland, at times you seem more gutted than us when things go tits up.

Depends what you mean by support really. I want to see Sunderland do well and find it harder to post when they're doing badly (plus you're a good bunch who deserve better than the dross you've been served up for years).

I'm always a bit envious of people who support one club more than the other but wish both well, ideally we'd all be like that and there'd be less bitterness swirling about.

As it is I've chosen lemons and let me tell you they are not pleasant.

Must admit I’ve never got the hatred my friends and family have of Newcastle. Obviously I’ve always wanted us to be the best team in the world (even if that sounds child like) and would Newcastle to be the 2nd best.......but deffo 2nd best not 1st!!!

After listening to that he seems quite positive but still can't work out what's going on
Seems something fairly drastic has happened with the current negotiations from the way he's talking about future investment and a number of parties showing an interest. Can't work out if he's trying to salvage this deal or looking elsewhere for investors
I've a feeling he'll come up with something but not sure initially at least it will be the game changing takeover we are hoping for.
But who knows flying carpet might be out again this time tomorrow
Anything a possible. Bloody hell man we beat Grimsby tonight.

Same mate.

Live and work in Newcastle, most pals and birds are Mags, love the city, have good craic with them and banter.

I’ve only met a handful in real life in best part 20 years here that are genuinely hateful and blinkered, sadly it’s that minority, on both sides, that often makes the biggest noise.

I’d be delighted to be fighting them for Europe, or trophies, as long as we won.

That said, I do love it when they **** it, and I do laugh my tits off when they win 1 game and go on like they are riding a wave.

Enthusiastic and passionate they certainly are, and I’ll respect that.

Just listened to the Interview and although it has eased my mind a bit, I do wonder if the all out search for a new manager could delay the takeover/investment or are we still hoping for a conclusion on Friday either way.I was hoping this was going to be asked during the interview but no such luck.
