He may well be but remaining silent in the face of this statement makes it look like he’s unable to prevent it from happening (or unwilling) could hurt him in the long run if he’s hanging about for the full backlash. Especially if it derails preparations for the new season and we start badly on the back of it.Is KLD not playing poker with them here? Assuming it is Methven. As said its unlikely the EFL would back it so it backs them into a corner with less scope to get out of it.
Sunderland fan, sky sports presenter. The one who isn't Dave JonesPardon my ignorance, who is Tom White.
Could also be the fact that Methven is Bob's source, so although Bob gets info some of it will be pure **** that salmon pants wants people to believe, I don't believe for one second that these are the investors that Prehab26, wheatsheaf etc are really optimistic about our future.@BOB EDWARDS posted something yesterday about KLD having until midnight Friday to keep his side of the bargain. It could be that the Donald and Methven are trying to force KLD's hand.
Good point. Hope you're right.I’ve been keeping up with this thread since pretty much the start. The news today hasn’t been great but at the same time I don’t believe this is the only group. Tom White is a Sunderland fan, and works alongside one of our board members. He’s obviously released it for a reason. Maybe KLD prefers/ knows the 2nd bidder and Methven is digging his heels in with them (which wouldn’t be a surprise). KLD/ his group pushes a story through about this group and creates a bit of a backlash, improving the hand of the credible bidders? Nobody knows anything until it’s on safc.com, but it’s a different spin on it.
Very RTG on here tonight.
I think this is just desperation, trying to attract bidders, if a sale was genuinely happening they'd have no use to leak this. No credible buyer who is in discussions would be worried by this opposing group.
Not sure how this will drive price up mind.
Why would the other group need to increase their offer because the other group has gone public, to massive mockery about it being unrealistic and fans in uproar.
Not sure how that would translate to other parties saying, 'we need to up our already accepted bid'.
It's been for sale for years. I think everybody who would potentially bid will be aware of the cost etc already.if it attracts just one more interested party they can use to play off each other they can create price competition

Pressure on other groups to finalise maybe but doubt increases. Reporters need to stop releasing what Charlie tells them.
