Another day of exciting anticipation.
It’s alright for some to say it won’t affect them but I guarantee there are fans all in very the world who are thinking of at least 80% of the time about the takeover
Me. I’m up over 95%. How sad is that in my 70th year

Even those who claim there is no takeover spend 80% of their time thinking and posting about it <laugh>

This needs to happen very soon as much I don't like Chris weatherspoons ranting and raving constantly he is right when he says we have 20 players out of contract in the summer , we can't be fannying around much longer

Agree we need to get this done now without further delay. However, I think Speakman and Johnson will already be hard at work addressing the player contract issues.

I’d only be fussed about a few of those 20 players personally. Hume and Willis for a start.

His pertinent point is about replacing them if we take the extra EFL loan which then limits our spend on replacing them until it’s repaid. So his fear only comes to fruition if we take that loan so assumes we won’t get taken over.

and frankly I think we’ve got bigger problems if we don’t get taken over.

He is quite rightly however acting like the takeover isn’t going to happen. Which is sensible for somebody in the club to be thinking about as there should be contingency planning in place. And whilst we are all confident it’s going to happen, there needs to be a plan for it it doesn’t

Surely the bailout money isn't even an option now if the takeover is imminent, it would defeat the whole object of kdf wanting larger control

If we don't get taken over Donald will have to take the loan and we will be staring disaster in the face.

We won't be taking that loan.

yes I’m confident of that as well. But until the takeover is confirmed I do think it’s healthy for somebody at the club to be considering what the alternative might be and planning for it. You’d like to think that even in the slim chance it did all fall thru, the current guys wouldn’t be stupid enough to take it. But they’re pretty stupid!!

definitely. I don’t think there’s any chance we take the loan whilst the takeover is still possible / probable. I just think Chris is highlighting the potential issues if it does fall through.

I’ve asked him in the past why he was convinced that the club were definitely going to take the loan and he was very confident the club have considered it. You’d like to assume that’s only as a contingency if this all falls thru tho.

I’ve asked him in the past why he was convinced that the club were definitely going to take the extra loan and he just told me I was beyond help (which he then deleted as I think he knew it was unfair). So he must be confident the club have considered it. You’d like to assume that’s only as a contingency if this all falls thru tho.
To me he acts like a bit of knob at times he always has to be right anyone who has a different opinion is wrong

Chris W is a gobshite who simply picks the worst case scenario and goes with that. In every situation we could find positives/negatives depending on how we see things. But when you are so blinkered and narrow minded and manipulate every situation to suit your narrative it loses impact. The guy is a fud

The main argument I don’t quite get is the idea that the fans should be shouting from the rooftops about things we aren’t happy with, yet at the same time can be blameless if things fall through. I’ve been scorned before for “just hoping” it works out okay and KLD takes over with a majority, when apparently all fans should be making it known it’s not acceptable and staying quiet didn’t help us 2 years ago etc.

But then if the club come out and say it’s the fans fault, those same people saying we should shout loud think it’s laughable that the fans could be blamed.

I just don’t tally that up. Either we accept the fans have no influence or we accept that they do. And if we do have an influence, we have to be ready to expect it can be a negative one as well as a positive one.

If this takeover does fall through (and to be clear there’s no current feeling it will), and the club do say the fans influenced it, then I think it’s fair enough to take some (not all) of that on the chin. We do have a group of fans actively demanding that this takeover didn’t happen in the guise it was (with KLD not having a majority). If the takeover doesn’t happen, they got what they asked for, even if they were asking for it for legitimate reasons.
