If I'm a young billionaire club owner chomping at the bit to get going, I've got a top notch striker lined up, picked by my crack team of scouts and approved by the manager as a great long term signing, and the only obstacle is having to pay up Danny Graham's contract...why wouldn't I?
Its all hypothetical though isnt it? We also have to abide to FFP so the chances of being able to get a top notch striker, in January, to come to L1 is farfetched.

Unless he's under 21. There's a few decent players around in that age bracket that may be tempted if the money id right

genuinely not sure what damage he could do with such a small share holding. In essence the guy is an irrelevance to the football club now..just waiting for a pay day, i'd think he will only check on our scores with the motive of seeing he 15% becoming a little more financially worth cashing in
That’s pretty much what I meant. There isn’t a sarcasm filter on here though!!
Look at the decisions being made now. They absolutely reek of professionalism. That’s enough to tell me they ain’t being made by Donald or Methven.

Still doesn't excuse him being a knob mate
He’s isn’t a knob marra. We can all be arseholes at times , but he certainly isn’t a knob. I know him, through others, we don’t mix in the same group but I see him regularly. He’s rightly ****ed off with the state of the club and it’s his passion for it, that shines through.
It isn’t easy being a Sunderland supporter but even worse living on Tyneside. Now where we are from, the whole estate when we were growing up was something like 90% Sunderland fans, it isn’t now and we can see first hand the effect that Keegan has had for them and these clowns for us. The place is awash with the worst type of vermin, we have those that have changed colours like the fat bastard beefy and we have those that don’t go to games and flounce around and hate everything that is red and white.
He’s a great lad, has a smashing family, knocks about with the best branch out there and flies the red and white flag through thick and thin. And for him, it’s been mostly thin, he wants the same as us but has heard different to others, that’s all it is.

Hopefully have some contacts in France if Dreyfus is announced.
Doesn't even need to be in France. Look for the youngun's in the Championship or the current England U21 squad, Wales and Scotland for that matter that will buy into the plan. Simple fact is that they don't count so they could be payed anything and it doesn't affect the salary cap.

Time we started putting pressure on other clubs for once. Tap up the good youngsters and offer them more than they're currently getting at Championship clubs and they may just well come

Fair enough marra. Just think it's a bit harsh giving prehab grief for pasing on news.

Just chuckling at the rampant indignation from the anti-takeover ITK's on here ...

.... or IKFA's as I call them.

"There won't be a takeover, Donald wants another crack at promotion."

Donald, "I want to sell the club."

"He's bluffing to placate the supporters."

Donald, "We're talking to preferred buyers."

"He might want to sell but no one will buy during a pandemic."

Donald agrees a deal to sell the club.

"It's only the Guardian, it won't happen."

The new people start assembling a new staff.

"It's Methven/Rodwell/Donald doing that."

The new staff dismiss that idea.

"It's not a takeover, there's a financial entity you idiots don't understand called 'share jiggling' which means nothing has changed."

Seriously, these people are absolutely desperate for the club to fail ...

... either that or they're sad little people pretending to be Sunderland.

Makes you glad you're not them.

IKFA's

WTF do they think of when the they hear the term "the ownership group"

The sad bit they are supporter of the same club as you and l, l'll re phrase that, there not supporters but miserably twats with an opinion

On another note was heartened by LJ interview post match clear vision of aspects of the teams failures, not bad in 4 hours unlike years for you and me

That's it yeah what good is it having a rich owner if they don't spend anything, there are perfectly viable ways of doing it even with all the restrictions. There will be plenty of players we could get who are attracted to both the money and the project, not just the cash.

Here’s a question.

I’ve read on here that many think SD is holding on to his 15% so that when we get sorted out and are back where we belong he will be able to sell for a good profit.
That’s fair enough but here’s the question.
Is he expecting Dreyfuss to come in and splash out 20-30million but not have to contribute anything himself.
He can’t expect to cash in on Dreyfuss spending huge sums.

For every £10 million spent he should pay £1.5 million (and CM £0.5 million) otherwise it’s totally unfair.

Anybody know how this works?

Well, it's been well over a week since that Roker Report article said the "Takeover" would be done by next week (This week)

....hmmm

He will have to otherwise his share holding will be reduced.

I'm not clued up on financial affairs but in my naive thinking this is how I beleived he could be managed out quite easily.

If he doesn't contribute his shares would be diluted

I like your optimism but I don’t agree that Johnson and Speakman are the people to take us forward. I am totally underwhelmed to be honest and that fact that Rodwell, Methven, Donald and Sartori are anywhere near our club is of concern to me.

I'm optimistic about the future, and if we had brought in Pep, some would be moaning that it's not Klop, or some foreign name l could not pronounce or spell.
LJ was working on another team's players when he got the call at short notice, had no hesitation, and was brought in by Speckman and the Ownership group, and after 90 minutes of football he summed up perfectly all the failures of the team.

Sure there are better, but with all of these young people coming in the future is looking rosier than the Parky era KTF

Quite agree mate, but like I say he isn’t the rat, or others of his ilk who pour scorn on ITK’s because they couldn’t possibly know something, he’s just heard different. There isn’t one person on this board who would sit down, drink with him and not get along. He will have some great stories to share also, he’s frustrated and thinks the wool is being pulled over our eyes about the whole takeover thing. He obviously doesn’t want SD or CM anywhere near the club and that is where his infuriation lies.
