Patience bonny lad patience
Yesterday would have been a great time for an announcement with the evening game.
But that's gone. Happy for them to do this properly
Takeover
DOF
Manager

Just sick of the constant kick to the bollocks. Never feels like we will ever kick on.

I think they thought Poyet was done which would lead us to beating Burton last night, him in charge for a win against Wigan on Saturday and things would be looking rosy.

They are probably panicking they need someone in for Saturday as anything other than a win and we can pretty much guarantee we aren't getting an automatic spot.
we won't even make play offs way things are going we need change desperately

I'm not upset you think the Cowleys would be a good chooice. I do think you are completely wrong like, and that's based on reading what Huddersfield fans had to say.

https://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/114171/cowleys-out

It's absolutely atrocious. The occasional bad performance is fair enough but thats 2 of the worst home performances I've ever seen in the last 3 weeks. No motivation, no plan, no desire and no ideas. Even if we somehow stay up. What do we have to look forward to if the manager can't come up with a plan to score a goal (have a shot on target?) against the worse defence in the league?
We don't deserve to stay up and I won't be be feeling hard done by if they don't. Boro, Wigan, Stoke and now Luton have come to the JSS and absolutely bossed us.
It one thing to be beaten by the better team it's another to not even try. Unacceptable.

Or how about a poll where they had the choice of a manger who they had seen or somone who had never managed before. And more of them chose the new guy.

I don't give a **** about a big name manager, so there's another incorrect assumption you have made, but I do want one that is going to be a catalyst for players joining us and has a decent contact list. I'd be happy enough with giving someone their first crack at management if I thought it would be an inspiring appointment. What I don't want is someone who the fans of their previous club, the highest club they have actually managed and got sacked from, thought their football was ****.

As for Mourinho playing playing ugly defensive football. Really. He's the lad currently managiing that Spurs team who are top of the league, second highest scorers, joint best goal difference and with the best defensive record playing a quick, effective counter attacking form of football based on a solid defence. Tell you what, I'd much prefer to get a manager of his ilk who plays ugly, defensive football if this is what he could achieve tbf.
So you're basing your opinion of the Cowleys on what the Huddersfield fans thought after a run of bad results. And you're basing your opinion of Mourinho on a quarter of a season. You do realise there's a bigger picture? You need to look at the wider world not just selected snapshots in time.

Don't agree there. We're not in good form, but we aren't that far away...a decent 5 or 6 game run will have us thereabouts. However, I do agree they need to sort it....the longer it goes the more difficult it will become.

How sad is this especially after yesterday.
I'm sat here with my morning coffee. Computer on this page my mobile on RTG. My ipad on sky news and my tv on SSN.
All just waiting for the announcement of our new man in charge.
Got to say Hayley on SSN does make it more relaxing to watch.
For some reason I am expecting an announcement sometime today

We cant score goals, We've never even occupied an auto spot since we came into this league, only blind faith we can do it this year IMO, I dont think we we'll score enough to win enough games. Would take a considerable change in approach and players finding their shooting boots if so.

Surely if they expected poyet to join, there isn't going to be an alternative ready to step in the day after he changes his mind. Would much rather they take stock, re assess before diving in.
Absolutely. The takeover hasn't officially happened yet but its obvious from the Schwartz Poyet links that they have a plan
I would think they have a number of options but Poyet was obviously their first choice and by the looks of it on the verge of coming
So they will need time to reassess. Wouldn't expect a queue sitting in the carpark waiting for the call.

Pretty sure we have mind.

agree - but on the flip side of that, when discussing Poyet, they'd have discussed others and landed on Poyet as Plan A. So you could expect it possible that a Plan B was also landed on, or was at least easy to reach after yesterday's bad news.

Was it Bob that messaged you or does he have the same source. He reckons DOF and manager today, they have moved quickly if that is the case

Bloody quick mate.

I hope they've thought this through and they've spoken to Schwarz or whoever the SD will be, to make sure he feels that this manager is comfortable with the style of play that the SD is wanting us to adopt. They've got to be singing from the same hymn sheet for this to work long term.

Lee Johnson is the first candidate that’s popped up that I’ve immediately thought “no way” to straight away, which is absurd when you consider how close Bristol City got to the championship playoffs regular.

He’s called Streaky Lee for a reason, Bristol would go on horrific runs where they couldn’t beat anyone and Johnson had no answers, this occurred virtually every season. As someone else has mentioned, Bristol City have invested heavily so just missing the playoffs doesn’t cut the mustard.

I’m really warming to Cowley but fear there will be too many baying for his blood after 1 poor result.

Good to see while all this is going on the ownership continuing to plummet to new lows with what they’ve done to Cooke - fkn disgrace.
Johnson would appear to follow the Steve Bruce method of losing for months. Not a risk I would like us to take

Agree mate we are absolutely ****e. There is every chance we won't go up this season
But more reason to take stock and get it right.
A proper plan and a well structure club. Better than a knee jerk appointment who doesn't get us promoted anyway and we sack him in Feb.

More assumptions. They thought they were **** after having them for near on a whole season, and seeing as that was the biggest job they'd had, it doesn't fill me with any confidence about them. It seems to me that they are a good at non-league and lower league but failed to implement their ideas when they were faced with a better quality of opposition. And again, over half of them wanted the new guy, so what does that say?

Mourinho has won trophies everywhere he's been and his footy is perfectly okay to watch to my eyes. Imagine thinking he plays dour defensive football man, that's a joke. We'd be ****ing creaming our pants if we had a gaffer who could do similar.

The bigger picture? How about having a gaffer who can act as a magnet to attract decent players, as we have struggled maasively with that over the years. And like it or not, getting in a 'big name' helps to achieve that imo.

Thats my thoughts too.

No idea how you can have a plan in place for Poyet to get everything structurally right, he then rejects it and we can have someone completely different in style lined up (thats of course, if Cowley rumours are true)

Absolutely mate. I'm not thinking weeks but I'm happy for them to take a few days and get it right.

What I'm told is interviews have been ongoing, Poyet was pushed by by Sartori but certain people interviewed particularly well and fit the model of the club moving forward. Johnson was one name given to me that was interviewed and Cowley another. Cowley apparently was the one that stood out and scored most by the panel which included Rodwell. This wasn't about a personal preference and all to do with interview ability.

I dont know who else was on panel but hoping DOF played a part!

I think they said Parky interviewed well last year. I hope it wasn't the same interviewing panel.
