All the negativity seems odd to me seen posts where people are complaining about Sartori and how his involvement has been minimal at the club??? Would any Sunderland fan have given large amounts of money to Donald after realising he couldn't run a bath never mind a football club. I for one am excited to see what the future holds and hopefully we will see Donald and the Salmon trousered assassin gone from our club soon

Its the ones who think a billionaire is going to come in and be ordered about by Donald and Methven that make me laugh. I mean, if nowt else his money is in a trust fund, so it's not like the people controlling that will just let him be manipulated . And, despite his age, I seriously doubt he'll be impressed or swayed by two small time "businessmen" who he will already know have completely ****ed up here to the point of us all wanting them to piss off. He'll have been surrounded by actual successful people all his life, he'll doubtless have a canny idea of "what good looks like" and he'll know its not those two jokers. I just hope it progresses swiftly from here because I can't wait to find out who he's going to have running it assuming it all goes through.

The new sporting director will be running most of the important things in terms of the performance and recruitment side.

I think, as of today, Rodwell will keep his post but he will just be overseeing the admin side of things.

Donald and Metheven won't have a meaningful word to day in anything again.

The appointment of the sporting director and reshaping of the recruitment and academy is a massive task and essential to the long term development of the club.

You heard any whispers who it is? decent name / reputation if so ?

Why would anyone think that a multi-billionaire would even consider listening to a mediocre insurance salesman when it comes to anything to do with SAFC as and when they take the majority share of the club. Donald ( IMHO ) hss only got a minority stake to make more cash as and when Sunderland start to climb the leagues. I cannot even believe he would be welcome at the SOL when this deal is finalised, the guy is as popular as a fart in spacesuit.

I’ve just been over and had a read on rtg. Try not to go there now. It’s a world apart from here. Negativity abound. It’s quite disturbing how people can be so negative after the last few years of Donald. We should be excited at the prospect of this takeover and looking forward to hopefully happier times.

Yes,I'm leaning that way too mate. Some of the bilious, ignorant nonsense being floated out over there is insane. I've just had a pop at that Chop Sauce fella for his ridiculous posting, but I can't be bothered with a slanging match with any of them.
Think I'm calling it a day over there.

I wonder if we start to hear more info this week about who the other people coming onboard with JS and Kyril are

I’m not completely sold yet that there are many more equity stakes at play here. It would dilute KLD’s ownership too much to make any significant investment worth his while.

It may be that the other “new people” @Magnus has heard are involved are simply people KLD is bringing with him (new chairman perhaps) without having equity.

Tbh I could have written that article after reading what l’equipe said yesterday.

He's obviously been briefed imo mate.

The same goes for L'Equipe who I'd guess he's in contact with ...

... that's good journalism.

"According to sources in France, Sartori and Louis-Dreyfus have instructed recruitment company Executives In Sport to begin interviewing for the sporting director role, and a weekend report in L’Equipe claimed they had assembled a four-person shortlist of candidates based in either England or Scandinavia."

Theres no provocation, it's like a statement but he's clearly quoting L'Equipe.

This lad is obviously the one to watch for me.

I think it’s l’equipe we need to watch as they must have contacts with someone from that end with looser lips! Makes no sense for the club to be leaking stuff into France, they’ve found that out themselves.

We just need a french speaker on the board who can keep on top of l’equipe ;)

This isn't looser lips and leaks imo, this is a statement of facts from Dreyfus who, until the deal is ratified, can't say anything officially. These are just warning shots, across the bows, to anyone thinking things won't change.

As it happens I'm in France, and speak fluent French, so watching the media here ...

... there's no question here that Dreyfus is in charge and will take no prisoners.

Just being cautious here. Not sure how much to look into the northern echo article but it appears Rodwell is remaining in his role. Not great news tbh if true. I am just hoping there is more change. Parkinson wanting a chat with the new owners as if Rodwell has said he’s going to get that opportunity. We need a clean slate imo.

Him and Johnson. Proper pair of bellends.

Rodwell knows the EFL well and is supposedly a canny operator. I’ve got no problem him staying involved under the right direction from above. Quite the opposite in fact, I think his involvement will be essential for his experience and the transition.

Parkinson is just saying stuff that he’s expected to say. He’s hardly going to say “well, being a football dinosaur, if it was me in charge I’d sack me straight away and put someone in place who actually knows what they’re doing in the modern game”.
As for Rodwell, he is acting on the owners wishes and requests. If he’s kept on after the takeover he will be doing exactly the same thing. If the new majority shareholder thinks he’s doing a **** job then he’ll be peddled.

Any idea if Jones is staying on?
