Only part I don’t like in the northern echo article is the part about the academy and where they are to decide if it is to remain cat 1 status. To me not doing that would give off the worst possible vibe to a fresh start that you can get. I hope that is completely wrong. It’s one of the most important things to get right.

Yeah, must admit that had me doing a double take.
Hope it’s semantics and that they are going to be taking a long hard look at the structure of it rather than potentially abandoning CAT 1.
Getting the structure right across all aspects of the club is crucial. Early signs are that these people know what they’re doing so we need to let them run with it.
Happy to do so rather than remain the rudderless, leaderless abomination of a club we’ve become with the dynamic duo in charge.

Yeh I read that tweet as meaning he's remaining for now, not remaining once they take over.

Unless of course we win every game until then, which would make it unlikely they'd sack him immediately? He's on the thinnest of ropes though

He will remain until the takeover is confirmed and itl be a new start.

They reckon when Parkinson goes on holiday with his Mrs they always take her sister with them and make sure they always book the rear seats on the flight as hes always got to have '3 at the back'

*Sorry, dont know where thats come from lads<laugh>

I'm hoping one of their earliest communications is to say the academy will remain cat 1 and they'll be investing in the set-up for the future and that we'll not be selling off any more promising youngsters.

My family ties to this club go back 150 years, my great grandad used to follow us at the old Newcastle Road ground. All my family are red and white, it's as much a part of my identity as my name and what schools and University I went to. I'm 47 and no matter how much disappointment I've suffered over the years or how disillusioned I get, I'll still end up coming back and backing us to the hilt. I was at Wembley twice last year, I was in the North Stand when Jeff Witley missed in the penalty shoot out against Crystal Palace, endured Mich Buxton and Terry Butchers mismanagement, but I was also there when Steven Caldwell scored the header against Wolves to get us promoted under Mccarthy, the 100 point season under Reid, Kean getting us promoted after the 15 point season with Carlos Edwards wonder goal against Burnley. We'll be back, even if it's hard at times, because it's what we do.
Well put.

Point of order. People, not necessarily on here, keep banging on about SD retaining a 15% share in the club. From what I've read/heard he's retaining 15% of his shares in the club, which by my ready reckoning gives him between 10&11 % of the club, based on his 74/75% share ownership.

People keep trying to lump the shares of Donald, Sartori and Methven together in an attempt to make it look like they have authority over Dreyfus.

All so they don't have to admit, to themselves, that they were totally wrong about the takeover.

It's absolutely desperate.

its cat 1 fir another two years, there is no rush for a decision, I think that was the journo just taking a punt filling some column inches

Yep. In a perfect world SD and CM would be bought out and we'd move on without them as there will always be an element of our 'support' who will look to be negative purely on the basis they're still around. However, they want a return on their investment and if they get one it means either a) we've been successful in getting promotion(s) or b) someone else has offered them what they want. I can live with either of those options.

The other alternative is that there is/are further share offering(s), the desperate duo can't afford to buy in (at their pro-rata option level) and so their shares become diluted. Win/win for the club and the fans. Any of the deluded fools who think they will have any other than minimal/no influence in SAFC going forward needs to have their bumps felt.

I maybe reading too much into this but it sounds like its not just Juan and Louis in the consortium ......... maybe my over-active mind though !

Scott Wilson in the N Echo is guessing that Parkinson will remain, however even a blind person could see that there's no chance this dinosaur will be around. He knows this himself, you can tell by his body language. However, is this something you have been told or are you making the assumptions like I have.

Its the ones who think a billionaire is going to come in and be ordered about by Donald and Methven that make me laugh. I mean, if nowt else his money is in a trust fund, so it's not like the people controlling that will just let him be manipulated . And, despite his age, I seriously doubt he'll be impressed or swayed by two small time "businessmen" who he will already know have completely ****ed up here to the point of us all wanting them to piss off. He'll have been surrounded by actual successful people all his life, he'll doubtless have a canny idea of "what good looks like" and he'll know its not those two jokers. I just hope it progresses swiftly from here because I can't wait to find out who he's going to have running it assuming it all goes through.
the last time I looked 80% shareholding beats 20% shareholding.. That is all Methven and Donald will become, Shareholders with little or no say...It would only take Dreyfuss and Sartori to agree a price for the chancers shares or force them by a new issue of shares to leave the chancers with a pittance. Hopefully.
