Agree. Its not as if we're sitting back to then play on the counter and exploit the space thats left because we attack in such a predictable and one paced fashion. We allow the opposition the space to play and their confidence to grow as the game goes on. We should be having teams arrive at the SOL scared to play us, instead they absolutely relish it.

You could argue we don't have the players to play another way, but that must rest with Parkinson too. He's had two transfer windows and has yet to bring in a more progressive central midfielder nor a striker with pace capable of getting in behind.

I don't care if we're 6th, he has failed to address the issues in the team and the new ownership have to replace him with someone who can move us forward. Parkinson will continue to tread water indefinitely otherwise.

Reading that article, I know its just his take on things but he seems to think Poyet will be coming back to Sunderland in some role

Dunno about Henry as manager. He'd probably set us up more attacking and it'd do the trick but he'd be a big gamble considering the alternatives.

We have to change our mentality , let the opposition worry about us not the other way round . That is probably the reason we are better away from home , teams set up differently apart from us when we are at home thus handing the away side the initiative by not attacking them and not going for the jugular , we are so slow in our build up they have ample opportunity to filter back and get their defensive shape . The front players are far too slow and we are too reliant on Gooch and Hume to provide the spark and when we do fashion chances the other players are on their heels rather than their toes to put chances in to the net Saturday emphasised this particularly Will Grigg . Like yourself I found PPs analysis amazing we were trying to stop them playing instead of concentrating on what our side should have been doing - scoring goals , winning games , the mans lost the plot .

Just on the negativity points, I think initially I reacted with being underwhelmed but that was just at headlines I guess and not the detail.

The more I've read and researched on this new set up the more excited I am! This really does have untold potential! Still not joining yous on the cans though until it's signed sealed and delivered :emoticon-0102-bigsm A scarf pic = champers being popped!

Even if there's not a shred of truth, in that, it does show one thing.

Under Donald that would've been laughed at by everyone ...

... with this new regime people have to stop and consider it.

I like Henry, but for the same reason I don't want Phillips on his own, I think we need someone with experience of getting us out of this league who's also had success higher up. I'd like Pearson with Phillips. Keane, or Gus would be canny too.

Henry is a terrible manager. I really wouldn't want him coming here.

Granted he was an awesome player and granted he may have a bit of a soft spot for us (although I’m not convinced) but that won’t make him a good enough manager to get us out of this league.

The structure of the Board IS important and we need the input of FOOTBALL people to any discussions , their input will have an impact on who is in the Academy , who is in the Dugout , and who is on the Pitch . We have hopefully just got rid of people who were NOT Football people running our club and hopefully the new owners use any expertise at their disposal .

Yeah I'm always dubious about great players being great managers, rarely happens. I think as long as we set up more attacking and have a great transfer window any bugger could do the job, and the PR would be good with Henry but that's about it.
