Ok, I wanted to keep it under wraps, but I have family who live in the USA. As far as I know, it’s not them that’s buying the club.

To be honest, it's a nothing article. It contains nothing that isn't on here or other sites, in fact a lot less. It looks to be like the one from a few weeks ago. I think they know the takeover appears close but either don't have all the info about who's involved, or have it and can't release it so have knocked together a small column filler, particularly after Rodwell's statement the other day.
The positive is that it's another acknowledgement that things are on going and a change will probably happen soon.

Chris on Twitter is quite rightly pointing out this journalist has posted similar news a few times this year. They all ring roughly true with what was being discussed on here at the time.

So either he has the same sources or he just reads this forum and goes out on a limb.

There are things in that brief article that haven't appeared on the forums ...

... namely the potential buyer and the price.

It's a little sad how desperate some people are that we're not taken over. They dismissed the Nick Barnes info because he wasn't a journalist, now they're dismissing the info from a journalist despite it tieing in with the statement from the club CEO.

That's an agenda whichever way you look at it.

For me it's the reason Rodwell spoke.

I probably seem over confident but feel justified unless someone with no good reason is lying to me.

I just want it to be announced so we can all get back to the football.

When it's done I won't be posting any more info about Sunderland, it's too much bother and you grow tired of people taking potshots. I do get first hand info about the admin side of NUFC though which I'll post.

The info has been genuinely posted and I trust the people it's come from, that's the very best I can do.

Last time I was shown WhatsApp messages, from Fuhrman, saying he'd bought the club.

When that deal collapsed, at the last moment, people couldn't wait to call me a liar.

If this goes through those people won't come on to say 'fair enough, you were right'.

On balance I'd much rather be me than them.

All I can say mate is that I appreciate what you've done. You've been honest, consistent, up front and told us what you can when you've been able to. You've never spun out any connections to play the big important man, unlike Mad Bob, and any changes in anything you've told us has just reflected any changes to what you've been told was happening.

It's a real shame people have ripped into you in the past just to suit their agenda, but hopefully they'll be put to shame when things are finally sorted.

It’s more that they haven’t ruled themselves in. Although to be fair I haven’t seen them for about 45 years now so if they have been amassing a multi billion dollar fortune in that time it’s something they’ve kept hidden from the rest of the family.

I've been a SAFC fan for over 35 years, I love my club. Through the good and bad times I've never stopped believing something amazing would happen..our fans deserve it in my opinion..

I loved our time when Reid was in charge..I was at Sunderland Uni then..great times. (Meeting Lionel Perez and drinking with Lillian Lasanders..if people remember him).

The info I get is credible..some I share some I dont. However, I was told that the club would not be doing a running commentary about the takeover..but it was important to me to share that date with the fans. I believe that if it does fall through..it will be Donald's fault and his demands...but fingers crossed that after that date we can move forward together with a strong vision and club unity.

I'm not important or wealthy, just fell into the kind of work that puts you in contact with people who are both of those things.

For the brief time you're with them they rely on you and you become a key part of their world.

When the work is over you keep in touch, like a holiday romance, but it slowly fades then dies.

I've worked for a Sheikh, Oligarch, politicians and top bankers who've all relied on me but it never lasts and all you have is the odd Christmas card and tickets for shows you never go to.

But the memories are great and will last a lifetime.
