Pre Covid-19, Donald said on numerous occasions that he can’t afford to fund the club in the Championship and would need further investment so funding us in League One with no discernible income must be extremely difficult for him. For arguments sake, our annual expenditure is around the £14m mark and our income since March 2020 is negligible we have a monthly shortfall of around £1m. Madrox will either need to pay the shortfall to keep the club in business or borrow to cover it. If Madrox pay the shortfall then the £37m Donald said that they want for the club will need to increase by £1m per month to cover directors loans or alternatively they could borrow which means the value of the club will be £37m minus any outstanding debt at point of sale. I can’t see Donald or Madrox being able/willing to shoulder that debt nor can I see any new owners willing to take it on until they can see a revenue stream to cover it. Personally, I reckon Donald is flapping like a fish out of water trying to sell the club and the prospective buyers are waiting until there is some light at the end of the tunnel and these restrictions are relaxed before they put pen to paper. Even the richest people wouldn’t buy a business losing £1m per month until they could see some prospect of recovering that amount. If the same buyers that have been in negotiations since last March complete the deal in November, not covering £1m per month budget deficit has saved them £8m
It suits them to hang about until the next transfer window. As luck would have it delaying techniques are Stewart’s specialty My main concern is him or Methven retaining stakes. If that’s the case I’d like a clause preventing them speaking about the club in public because the pair of them are embarrassing and would use their association to the club as a platform to keep on talking ****e.
I don't believe that. Every month they delay it by, increases the cost to Madrox by circa £1m or reduces the price of the club by the same £1m. They must be idiots to accept losing that much money.
To be honest, it's a nothing article. It contains nothing that isn't on here or other sites, in fact a lot less. It looks to be like the one from a few weeks ago. I think they know the takeover appears close but either don't have all the info about who's involved, or have it and can't release it so have knocked together a small column filler, particularly after Rodwell's statement the other day. The positive is that it's another acknowledgement that things are on going and a change will probably happen soon.
For me it's the reason Rodwell spoke. I probably seem over confident but feel justified unless someone with no good reason is lying to me. I just want it to be announced so we can all get back to the football. When it's done I won't be posting any more info about Sunderland, it's too much bother and you grow tired of people taking potshots. I do get first hand info about the admin side of NUFC though which I'll post.
in that case, thank you for all you have posted, although i think you will find it hard not to keep us in the loop with the info you get. look forward to hearing about it all going bosoms up for the geordies.
to be honest I don’t care if it’s an alternative American billionaire . There’s been loads trying to buy English clubs recently including Southampton and Newcastle. In a strange sort of way I’d actually prefer an alternative American billionaire as I’d quite like to forget all about Donald, Methven, Sartori and FPP.
if we are taking “American” as gospel then it narrows it down obviously but still could be tonnes of people. Just the people I’ve heard of: - Fuhrman or one of the FPP lads (or all) - Short? - That DaGrosa fella who owns Bordeaux and has tried in the last year to buy Newcastle and Southampton so clearly wants to buy an English team. Not see his name linked with us in any way so I’m merely speculating on him before people get excited. - Dell himself? - Mark Campbell
We know how wealthy they are for a start and how much of a professional organisation they would be They are serious people with serious money
