Need pulling!I enjoyed how he said players as pliers.

He’s got Long COVID.Think Pearson has been unwell over the summer. Was having problems with his immune system or something like that. Not sure how he is now like.
A Pearson type of person.
This, here's hoping they get a new manager who can turn this ship around this season.. people keep saying one or two quality signings should be enough, let's wait and see and KTF.Exactly mate.
It's obvious the current team have little fear of Parkinson and that's vital imo.
Klopp comes across as a likeable loon but you just know he can be brutal when dealing with players.
Sunderland has a legacy of being a soft touch for players which is why di Canio was so appalled. So we have to blow that lethargy out of the club forever before we even think about tactics, signings and style of play.
Liverpool were sleepwalking, just like us, when Bill Shankley walked through the door ...
... he was every bit as manic and intense as Di Canio but was allowed to blow the club apart.
There are lessons there we need to learn.
To be fair I can't stand Pearson but I thought he should of got the job last time instead of Parkinson and for the same reasons you allude to. A strong positive personality is needed. To me that is big Sam all day long, but that won't happen in my opinion.Exactly mate.

Keane with O'Shea has a good ring to it, good shout.Pearson or Allardyce would be my first choice definitely. I just can't see Allardyce happening though.
Pearson with Phillips as his assistant (bearing in mind they worked together) would be just phenomenal.
I really don't like the idea of Phillips on his own - he's too much of a nice guy. But that's why I think he'd make an excellent good cop / bad cop with Pearson.
A combo of Roy Keane and John O'Shea would do similar.

If there is a director of football to oversee the development of the club I think he should choose they need to be able to work together
I got the feeling a dof didn't go down well with a lot of our previous managers especially poyet who undermined congestion every chance he got.
totally agree, maybe one or two tweaks but on the whole they should be performing much netter than they are...That! , is down to the manager.Absolutely. This squad isn't performing anywhere near good enough but I don't think any of them are playing at the tops of their game.
This division seems quite weak this year, definitely the weakest it's been in our time. The right manager would probably not even need any new signings. Obviously 2 or 3 players in the new manager's mold to fit any gaps they see would be nice though.
Sounds to me like it's the other way round. Congerton undermining Poyet. For example, Poyet wanted Ki to sign permanently, was quoted 10m, the powers that be thought it was too much money, and went out and bought Rodwell for the same money. If there is a director of football to oversee the development of the club I think he should choose they need to be able to work together

By that point he was absolutely pissed off because he didn't get any of the players he wanted, he made some right **** ups like Rodwell being the main one but everyone will have drop a clanger from time to time.
Spot on.If you listen to his interviews he told the club to go and buy Ki, Borini and Alonso. They’d been here on loan, loved the area were happy to sign and already knew his style of play. Congerton got him Van Aanholt, and Roswell. The club had refused to pay the money for Ki the went out and spent more on Roswell. Things like this is why his time here turned out the way they did
Ki was technically gifted without doubt but anyone who thinks his displays warranted a contract at our great club never watched his level of commitment during games. Disinterested and half-hearted most times, it was obvious he didn't want to be here.Sounds to me like it's the other way round. Congerton undermining Poyet. Poyet thought Rodwell cost half that but was told by Chris Kamara on his Sunday morning show on Sky that we'd payed 10m. If that's not undermining your manager I don't know what is!
