Just piecing together the bits people are hearing, like Smug, "someone unpleasant who the players will fear and the supporters may not even like", "someone already in a job", "someone who has got out of this division before".

Bowyer is an obvious one to fit all that. Possibly Pearson but dunno if he's in a job?

Was the someone unpleasant bit not a personal opinion?

I read it as I think we might need someone who is unpleasant not they have heard it is someone who is unpleasant?

Could well be, I've just re-read it and he does say 'imo' at the beginning.

Regarding Poyet coming back in, If he is on Sunderland's radar or even accepted a position, I don't necessarily see him coming back as Manager. He could be in some sort of Sporting Director role maybe, just a thought

He's the only name I've been given and I'd be happy but I don't want to mislead anyone.

There's no agreement or anything but I suspect there's been contact with various agents etc.

IMO we need someone unpleasant who the players will fear and the supporters may not even like.

This is no time for romance, we need the manager to rule the roost.

Sean Dyche would do nicely....

A Pearson type of person.

Be over the moon with Gustavo!

Always thought he had the right ideas but didn't have the quality of player to implement his style. People saying remember how it ended.... That was in the PL not this **** tin pot league we're in now
When he took over at Brighton they were a mess, a team going nowhere playing **** football, a team that couldn't string two pssses together (sounds familiar). He pretty much transferred them overnight into a team that played lovely attacking football, opposing teams couldn't get the ball off them, using the same players btw, and they went on and romped the league.

Think Pearson has been unwell over the summer. Was having problems with his immune system or something like that. Not sure how he is now like.

IMO I think Gus may be back at the club but as sporting director the role lequipe have referred to

key thing with that is I think you need a manager/coach aligned to his style/philosophy of play so any transfer targets fit well.
