I mean he’s getting pellets from all sides, but I’ll guarantee the fellas got more than the vast majority of those writing him off.

You know, the Mags call multi billionaire Ashley ‘thick’ and ‘stupid’

Two journos have tweeted that Storey's been told to do one.
SD wants one of MG's consortium off the negotiations, apparently for personal reasons.
Seems like one or two people over the road have info.

It doesn't really matter to me who gets the club. At the end of the day any new owner will say all the right stuff to begin with but let's be honest none of them will give a **** about the club or the fans.

Take Donald and pompous twat for example. Came in with all the noises about reconnecting the club and the fans here for the long haul to get the club back where it belongs bullshit. All they had in their minds was a chance to make money. If we had gone up last year they would have sold us for a decent profit and none of us would have given a **** that they had. The problem comes when the club aren't successful as the fans get pissed and the owners go into self protection mode. Ellis short did it in his last few years. He had the mindset of I've lost too much money here and I'm gonna lose more so I'm gonna cut costs as much as I can rather than gamble more funds to make it work. At least Ellis rolled the dice 3 or 4 times but never came up trumps.

Difference with Short is he was a billionaire so could afford to roll the dice a few times. Donald put all his eggs in Will Griggs basket that 3 million or whatever was basically his only available funds and its bitten him in the arse. The common consensus last season was it was a smart call and Grigg would fire us up but us being us it failed spectacularly.

I guess in short I dont care who owns the club as they will ultimately only be interested in profit for themselves. They only way they will get that is by being successful so ultimately if we are successful the owners are loved if there not theyre twats.

Donald needs out now though as although hes a very wealthy man in football club ownership terms he ain't got a pot to piss in and he knows it.

I'm with you on this, but it would be interesting to know who his partners in this are. A leftfield CEO with serious backing could be just what we need.
... although I admit equally, a poisoned chalice!

If nothing else for that save against Sheff Utd. However without Lionel's poor final we wouldn't have had Tommy.

Had a great night with our current guests.

The sports lawyer couldn't say anything about the takeover situation but says he'll keep his ears open now and ask a few people.

He did tell me some funny stories about Freddy Shepherd.

He originally contacted him when acting for Kieron Dyer. Dyer had been handed a 4 week wages fine for fighting on the pitch with Bowyer. Shepherd sent him an expletive laden email which ended ' .... now f**k off and don't ever f**k**g contact me again' <laugh>

This lawyer won the case and the fine was rescinded.

However, when Michael Owen was injured, playing for England, Shepherd called him and UEFA were subsequently forced to change their rules on insuring players etc.

Sadly, this lad also represented Milton Nunez, against us, and 'took Sunderland to the cleaners' <doh>

so we got stung by signing the wrong player for £1.5m and giving said wrong player a good wage. Then got hammered when we tried to sue his agent for duplicity. **** me, this club man
