There’s meetings/discussions all the time I’m guessing. SD’s been trying to sell the club form the moment he walked through the door. What I said was that the ‘meetings’ didn’t mean anything was close. Obviously FPP/GF are interested In the club, and want the club, Hence the loan and continued involvement but that doesn’t mean anything is happening ‘with their lot’.

what is happening with the rest-shuffling’ of the current bums on seats, who knows. But that isn’t a takeover in my eyes. It’s shuffling the seats around in the Titanic. Means nothing

I still stand by nothing happening at the club, takeover wise, but possibly some ‘changing if the guard’. Nothing to get too excited about as it will be just the same. All I’m saying is FPP/GF aren’t at the stage of discussions regarding their own takeover. No one knows who the ‘new owners’ will be as they aren’t any. It’s status who. SD ‘leaves’ bit hangs around in the background like a bad smell while his ‘mates’ take over and he’ll still get his big pay day with none of the grief from the fans

Again, I’ve never Heard of this page fill the Magnus screen shot appeared on Facebook of the % breakdown and I’ve obviously Looked at RTG before i. passing but never contributed as too many posts to keep a check on... and too much opinion rather than fact

I’m not really fussed who thinks wjatvaboutvme

No need for that mate, most people on here don't know what day it is.

Agree about a slanging match, no need ...

... decent posters on both forums.

That's a lot of words for 'I haven't a clue what's happening but I'm going to pretend that I do' mind.

Yep - defo done with love and respect for the old girl - I remember the auction and they were going to sell off the Clockstand seats and O'Brien bought the lot!
WRT the takeover - no smoke without fire and I believe there are people deliberately putting out false information.

Can anybody tell me the link between Fuhrman and O'Brien? I've seen a few people mention it but not seen what that is.

Not sure, but I'm sure when FPP were up for a game O'brien was in the box with them. Given that they wouldn't want to run the club it's very possible that obrien could get a role (maybe even chairman) without being a shareholder

In all seriousness what would they need to discuss.

They went through the place forensically, last time, and nothing much has changed. Donald can't make any agreements, borrow money or sell shares without going to FPP and asking permission.

FPP discussed absolutely everything and put an offer on the table ...

... the only discussion needed is for Donald to say 'yes'.

I know the O’Brien family operate in Boston and New York, and Fuhrman is New York based, so likely their paths have crossed that way.

No idea about if they’ve done business together like but it could explain how they know each other at least.

He’s just jumbling the figures up that Magnus posted. Hopefully Magnus is right.

I hate to be age-ist but I can't see past O'Brien being just 34. That's the same age as me :( Unless it's not Nathan O'Brien.

I was led to believe that CM brought FPP to the table but it could have been the O'briens?

    Yes probably plenty false info.
    Although
I remember reading Furman clicked with the club/area/supporters, and with him leaving FPP that could tie in with what's been said about him coming in now.
Also O'Brien was around with FPP last year so could see an involvement.
The scenario @Magnus posted. seems too good to be true but totally feasible.

No idea mate. Seems potentially more plausible to me, but pure guess work.

Stands to reason they’d have both met running very successful businesses in that area though.

I think for a hands off group like FPP it would make perfect sense. Seemingly done very well in business and, crucially, they know that as a Sunderland fan he'd diligently carry out the role because he'd be desperate for us to succeed. Having a chairman with that loyalty who wouldn't be out for themselves could be massive, especially if they already know and trust each other. It would make perfect sense .
