They finished 4th in his last season. Lost in the play offs. He was dismissed that summer. That **** is it? I'd have snap your hand off to be 4th in the championship.

I wouldn’t have had a problem with most of the people linked tbh. Pearson/Cook/Jocelyn G would have been fine, on reflection I’m not sure about the Cowley’s in terms of how they would cope in the goldfish bowl in Sunderland.
If it’s Poyet,as looks increasingly likely, then as long as he along with the Sporting Director and new owners are on the same page then it’s all good.
The kids will benefit from his methods and know-how. Hopefully Embleton, Diamond, Neil, Kimpioka, Curry and one or two more from U23’s get their chance and grab it with both hands.

I wonder if the Sunderland Til I Die documentary lads will be around for the supposed return of Gus.

Not that I loved watching us suffer on the tele but I’m sure it would make excellent viewing to see Poyet come back and (hopefully) get us playing well. I know they had mentioned they would be on standby if we had a likely promotion.

pretty sure they're not filming this season or the last

I think poyet gave up after that summer, I remember against QPR it was they had a right winger doing damage think his name was Philips and he just left it and watched as he destroyed us all game, he wasn't even trying which was absolutely ****.

But he was absolutely sick after not getting any of his players in, he did however want Rodwell...
I was led to believe Congerton put Rodwell forward as an option an he agreed. He didn't offer him the length of contract. I don't think Rodwell was his choice. Éver Banega was the player he wanted that summer.
