RIP Thread - December

Never saw him play but used to know his lad Steve.
Trust the club will do the decent thing on Saturday.
(Shame we even have to think such a thing.....)

Goodbye to my best ever HCAFC Legend, Brian Bulless. The nicest man you could meet. The ultimate family man. My hero. Sleep well Grandad.

He made a total of 369 appearances for City.

Wonderful player. First footballer I recall using a long throw in. He had a great understanding on the pitch with Bill Bradbury. Liam Brady reminded me a lot of his style years later.
RIP.

I saw his debut match in 1953 at BP against Southampton when he scored the only goal(HDM incorrect saying it was at Southampton). A delightful player to watch.

RIP.

Part of the team during my first times of going to BP in the late 50's early 60's, a solid no nonsense type of player and an affable type of guy. In fact I have a City badge from Brian's shirt, maybe the shirt in the pictures for all I know, procured for me by Jock Davidson after I had nattered nearly every player as a pesky lad (even nuisance I suppose) back in those days. RIP Brian and thanks for the memories.

He seemed to be an ever present forever, which he was in a way. One of the many players who lived round our way, Eastfield Road, Westfield Road area, how things have changed, they were still Gods to us but they lived next door rather than in an Ivory Tower.

I always enjoyed watching Brian play, the 2 things that stood out for me was his consistency as a player and Les Collinson's red face.

RIP Brian, one of my favourite players. As a kid I lived in King St not far from where BB lived.
I remember his parents house had a Cream Painted fall pipe.

Micky Fitz lead singer with The Business. Cancer. RIP

They're the sons and daughters of well off bankers
Tom Robinsons' army of trendy ****ers
Flared blue jeans and anoracks
With yellow streaks all down their backs
Who act so tough when their on tv
But trendy ****ers don't scare me

Oi!, Oi! Oi! Chosen few
This is what we think of you
Surburban rebels playing at reds
You would be urban terrorists
You don't scare us with your badges and banners
You know **** all about heavy manners

You're the middle class kiddies from public schools
Who write the slogans on the toilet walls
Like Tony Benn's clones in plastic masks
You wave a hammer and sickle, never Union Jacks
Got lots of mouth when your in a crowd
But when your alone you don't speak loud
