You need to learn the difference between a shareholder and a stakeholder. You can buy shares and become a shareholder, you can buy a steak and become a chef, but you don't necessarily buy a stake(fans/members are always considered stakeholders in a club). Stakeholder (corporate), an accountant, group, organization, member or system who affects or can be affected by an organization's actions. An entity that can be affected by the results of that in which they are said to be stakeholders, i.e., that in which they have a stake.
I presume you are asking genuine questions and would like proper answers so here goes. Hull City Tigers Limited organises the consultation amongst its stakeholders. The stakeholders are the clubs customers, sponsors, employees, supporters etc. It's modern business speak. Here is a link which explains it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/business/environment/stakeholders1.shtml How Hull City Tigers Ltd conduct the consultation is up to them, so allowing us a vote is one option. The question I'm asking is do you think we deserve to be asked. If the overwhelming mood is in favour of the new name then there should be no problem getting a yes vote. If its yes the Tiger Nation will have spoken. If Hull City Tigers Ltd, following Everton's example, think they'll get the wrong result they won't put it out to vote will they? To change 109 years of history with the loss of our name I feel the least it can do is give us a vote, don't you?
Everton never gave them a vote. Or if they did, they clearly asked a very select few. They have now given a vote though, these are the three to choose from: please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image I expect the first one to win solely because it looks most like the old one.
How the ****ing hell could Allem changing the name to Hull Tigers put any pressure on or have any effect whatsoever on those rugby loving dinosaurs at HCC who couldn't give the slightest **** about city? If anything they'll love it. It's pissed off a bunch of city fans and its an embarrassing name for a football club. What do you think th council will feel the need to hand over the stadium to stop the name change?
If or when the club consult us,the fans(stakeholders),are they then obliged to bow to our wishes,or can they then go ahead and change the clubs name regardless, having adhered to the premier leagues rule of consulting us ? I expect they will have to do as we wish, otherwise what would be the point in the consultation in the first place.
When renewing my season tickets this season I tried using my customer number, was told they no longer used.
I don't think we have to vote or anything do we? Didn't someone look into it at first news of the name change and discover that consultation was pretty much just tell the fans they're going to change it before they do? We've been consulted now then haven't we...
The Premier League have no firm rules on this, as it's never been requested before, it Assem wants to press ahead, they'll have to come up with some rules on what form the 'consultation'. Amber Nectar have been pushing the Premier League for details of what form of consultation is required, but they're still waiting for an answer.
No we haven't been consulted. The rules say that the club has to consult its stakeholders. The Premier League then has to decide whether what Hull City Tigers Ltd has done is within their rules. The final decision is made by the Premier League. If we convince them that Hull City Tigers Ltd hasn't abided by the rules we keep our name or lose our membership of the Premier League. Faced with that choice what do you think Assem Allam would do?
He could then suggest that a group of people, so far numbering about 30 people behind one banner, are stirring things up in such a way that they are jeopardizing the clubs status in the Premier League. That would be one quick option that would be quickly resolved at the next home match. Personally I think the Premier League will just allow the Allam's do as they wish, when you consider that the way they are financially managing this club is a model to other clubs and the name change might just work.
So what about the name change putting pressure on the council? I've seen it mentioned loads, I've asked 4 times altogether, but never seen a reason why or how it should pressure the council?
It doesn't put any pressure on them. The suggestion is that because they're called 'Hull City Council', Assem wants to distance us by not calling us 'Hull City AFC'.
There are a number of possibilities (but I'm guessing) 1. It's suggested it's a precursor to a move out of the stadium. That would kill FC and leave Corpo with a field surrounded by chairs in West Park. 2. It's another snub to Corpo, same as the victory parade. 3. It throws a spanner in the City of Culture bid. 4. (Totally left field guess) Renaming the team screws the existing contracts between HCC and Hull City AFC. I'm sure there's other possibilities.
Too right. I had a stab at guessing to answer your question. They're not meant to be accurate. I do find it sad that nobody can offer a positive benefit to the club in changing the name, and seemingly nobody can think of any other reason, yet still some on here seem to be pushing for it to go ahead. Bizarre.
