This is complete nonsense. Nowhere in that post did I say that the name change would have Asians queuing up to get "Ting" "Tong" & "Wong" printed on the back of hull city shirts, I merely said that Asia is a big and relatively untapped market and that its worth a go trying to manipulate. Did you go in your ford Cosworth?
You said the name change would potentially increase our appeal across Asia, I'm telling you it definitely won't, if anything, it will reduce it. I can't afford a Cosworth, I've got a D reg Sierra.
As I've said two or three or more time before. If the tiger is the symbol we use to get into the Asian market, which is better "The Tigers got their first away win in the Premier League at Newcastle United in a fighting performance." Or the same with Hull Tigers, bearing in mind that of the millions of people in Asia only a relatively small minority will have heard of Hull. Hull Tigers implies that there is more than one time in England called Tigers. Of course there is. There's London Tigers which is doing far more work in Asia than us to build their "brand". Why not have a look at their website to see how much work they have done already.
I know the Asian market very well, I've traded there for thirty years, but there can be no definite proof until we try it and it fails, by which time it will be too late. It's already made absolutely no difference to Cardiff, what makes you think we'd fare any better?
If the change was ever made, it would definitely be changed back, it would just be a matter of time(our next Chairman will do it, if it's not done before).
Have you got proof of the opposite? Just asking since the people who seemingly don't care about the name change always ask for proof when commenting on those against it.
