Apparently Joe Partington assisted because Joe helped him when he was a young player when they were both at Bournemouth. He won player and players player of the year at Eastleigh and they wanted him to sign on for them
According to articles on Bristol Rovers FC news Rovers linked with Lyle Taylor, Billy Kee of Accrington Stanley and Marc Bola has been released by Arsenal. There is also an article headed 5 L / B s that could interest Rovers
And the Post who had the article about the 5 LB's, provided 5 LB's who were unrealistic stupid targets.
Lee Brown to Pompey, two year deal, he said he wanted Championship footy, must think they have a better chance of it than us, fair play, big club pompey
Delighted to see that Lee Brown has signed for us. We had so many injuries to Left backs last season, so believe he is the answer to our problem ! How has Kyle Bennett settled in with you ? Very sorry to see him depart last season, but I feel he needed a change of scenery. He is such a great character, and a good bloke to have in the changing rooms, as he is full of fun. Good luck next season
Legend of a player. He remained with a sinking ship when we fell out of the football league. He could have left but stayed loyal and signed a new contract. That alone got him a ton of respect from the fans. He scores a fair few goals too for a full back. The 2 most important goals of his were at Wembley in the pen shoot out in the conference play off final and then 12 months later scoring in the 94th minute on the last game of the season which secured 3rd spot and an automatic promotion place to League 1. Without those 2 goals, we could be where Torquay is right now. His status with the fans as you can imagine grew a hell of a lot more for what he has done for us! He likes a long range shot and free kicks and pens too. Pace is not his best attribute but I feel is 1 of the best LB's in our league for everything else. Unfortunately, last season he seemed a bit of a different player. He wasnt at his best. But at the end of the season we found out he was leaving for family reasons as needed to be closer to London. May explain why his season was an off season for us. His head was elsewhere. On top of all his good points, he is a great guy off the pitch too. Really down to earth and a good character to have in the changing room. No doubt about it, you got a good player from us. As for Bennett, we got a good player from you too. He did very well since his arrival. Im expecting good things from him next season It will be good if you let us know how Browner gets on
Googled Bristol Rovers to see what the latest news was. There was an interesting headline about Lyle Taylor joining Rovers and Tom Nichols returning to Exeter See that Exeter are our only home 1st team friendly on the Sat 28th July at the Mem
Rory Gaffney has left the building. He has been sold to non league Salford City (Owned by the Neville Brothers/Butt/Giggs/Scholes)
Good move for Gaffers, Salford are a club with serious ambition and are moving in the right direction.
I think its a better move for Salford to be honest. I think Gaffney could have found a L2 team and done well. But I suppose the money Salford will pay, it will be too hard to turn down. I bet he is on more money now than what he was on with us.
Speaking about Rory’s deal to join Salford, Manager Darrell Clarke said, “We would like to thank Rory for his services and effort during his time with us. He’s a player that always gave his best for the club and we wish him every success in the future. We would also like to extend our thanks to Salford for the way in which they conducted the transfer.”
Rumours in papers that Nichols is going back to Exeter Really hope that he has a couple of strikers lined up otherwise it is going to be a long season
I don't get why some fans having a boner over Lyle Taylor possibly coming to the club hardly a hot shot the majority of his goals have come from playing at Concord Rangers and Falkirk a big no from me.
