I notice we are in a rush as usual to get our signings on board for next season, with Lockyer getting the write ups in the different papers for his latest international appearance we could be looking at another CD on the list and with Swindon wanting Rollin Menayese on a permanent deal 2CDs could be wanted. Our rivals in the league are busy in the transfer market but all we have is silence, they haven't even said whether the season ticket sales are holding their own or are up or down
You have to remember though that DC never lets anything out in the public domain about new signings, contract lengths and even injuries. He keeps he cards close to his chest! Things are going on im sure in the background. Players that we are after probably have other offers from elsewhere and we are just waiting to hear back. Players could be on holiday. DC may be on holiday! Im sure with the amount of players we need, we will get them in around 1st July when players contracts run out end of June.
Hope not us. He was good for us but been injury prone since. We need him fit all season not just for 10 games. Plus he plays same side as Bennett I believe. We need a winger for the other side.
Don't want Carayol back we need some who is going to spend more time on the pitch and not on the injured list, not sure if he has the quality we need to move up the leagues
I think he has the quality but he will demand a lot of wages which will most likely effect the amount of new players we can get and we wont see a lot for our money due to what you said about his injuries
We are delighted to announce that Bristol Rovers will be heading out to Holland on Monday 23rd July where they will spend five days at a training camp. Darrell Clarke’s side will play one game whilst in Holland, against FC Eindhoven, on Wednesday 25th July. The game will have an evening kick off, but will not be played at Eindhoven’s Jan Louwers Stadion, as it has a 4G pitch. Rovers specifically wanted to play on a grass pitch and so the game will take place at a ground close to Eindhoven. The venue, kick off time and admission prices will be announced in due course. One of two teams based in the city (PSV are the other), FC Eindhoven currently play in the Eerste Divisie, which is the second tier of Dutch football. The club's official colours are blue and white, hence their nickname Blauw-Witten (The Blue-Whites).
Dominic Telford offered a new contract by Stoke. If he were to turn that down Rovers would have to pay compensation to Stoke, cant see that happening so another good player slips out of our grasp
Sam Matthews has signed as of 1st July from AFC Bournemouth. Another midfielder Interesting headline on Rovers TW we have had a busy afternoon keep your eyes peeled another signing to be announced ????. is one or more of our M/ Fs leaving with 2 M / Fs already signed
Sam Matthews spent the whole of last season with National League outfit Eastleigh. He ended the season with 6 goals in 39 games and scored his first hat trick on the last game of the season. He was voted Eastleigh’s Player of the Season and also picked up the Player’s Player of the Year Award. Only 21 years young too. Bags of potential says I. Will he be part of the development squad seeing he doesn't have any football league experience? I guess not as he probably would have joined another club but maybe start him off in that squad. Would he go in front of Russe for example? See what happens.
According to this, he was wanted by Man Utd a few seasons back but Bournemouth fast tracked him as he was a very bright prospect and wanted to keep him. However, he ended up having a fair few injuries and apparently is not the same player who Bournemouth think that can play at the highest level. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/16218581.Matthews_released_for_sake_of_his_career/
Seem this on the other forum.... His 3 goals in the last game of the season, scoring the first 3 goals of the game. All left foot goals and his 2nd goal was quality.
Quite a big step up though from the National League to League One, there are some big teams and big venues to visit next season so time will tell I suppose but nevertheless if the lad has got it, then he shouldn't have any problems.
