Good news.... Stoke now have got themselves a manager. So hopefully, if we are still interested in him, we can get the talks started.

2 promotions from League 1 and a couple of seasons in the championship too. Knows how to defend and score. Sounds good to me. Can take a good free kick too. Shame about his relegation this season with MK Dons but on all accounts, their fans are disappointed that he has gone so it doesn't sound like he was to blame.

Ed Upson already has a record going for him for Rovers....

Tom Nichols only scored 1 league goal for us last season. It was against MK Dons. Guess who assisted him for his only league goal for us?

Thats right. Ed Upson! His back pass header went to Nichols who then scored his only league goal for us.

So Upson's record for us is to be the only person to assist Nichols getting a league goal for Rovers. I wonder if thats why DC signed him to get Nichols scoring more <laugh>

Go to 1 min 23 secs to see it...

Rovers wanted Otis Khan back in January and had triggered a release clause in his contract but Khan stayed at Huish Park as he looked to keep his options open for the next step in his career. If we are still interested in him, we now need to compete with Championship Preston North End and League One sides Burton Albion, Luton Town and Oxford United, who are also now keen on the player.

Presumably we will look to taking a few trialists during preseason to bulk the squad out

Yes. Like last season. I am surprised that we let Kris Owens go. He sounded pretty good.

    https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/may/17.05.18-leadbitter-deal/

Defender Daniel Leadbitter has today signed a contract extension with the club.

Daniel missed almost the entire second half of the 2017/18 season through injury and will now be hoping to complete a more extensive campaign personally after committing his future to the club.

Since intially joining the club four years ago, Daniel has made 118 appearances for the club and has been a part of back to back promotions from the Conference up the League One.

Here's what Daniel had to say just moments after penning his new deal.
"My time here has made up the biggest part of my career and I've got some really great memories here, even besides the obvious ones.I'm going to be ready for the first game of preseason providing all goes well with my rehab but I'm very confident I'll be ready. I can't wait because it's hard watching from the sidelines, I hate watching but I'll turn up and support the lads every Saturday but that's not what I'm here to do so I look forward to being more involved next year."

The gaffer shared his defender's delight at the contract extension, something which Darrell was keen to express.
“I am extremely pleased that Daniel has agreed to extend his contract with the club and look forward to working with him again next season. He has been a valued member of the squad for four years now and has made over 100 appearances for us during that time. He was troubled by injury last season, but has undergone an operation to correct the hamstring problems he experienced and will be ready to join us for pre-season training.”

Some one told me that the heard a rumour that we had signed a new coach from Southampton which makes sense as Mark Hughes has joined them and has probably taken his own team in
The name mentioned was Gerry wondering if it is Gerry Gill Bath City manager

Lockyer played for Wales last night vs Mexico. He was a sub but came on after 21 minutes. Ended 0-0 so got a clean sheet.

Could he have put himself in the window for offers??
