Yeah - The reason I voted Simeone in this poll was because I'm soo fed up with the total lack of discipline under Wenger.
Simeone would get us defending well, scrapping and working as a team and is used to working on a smaller budget. But his teams are somewhat 'negative' - in fact he's probably even more defensive than Mourinho.

Allegri would be interesting also as the guy is very tactical, he's also very different from Wenger in style and will change the shape of his teams to counter opposition. He can set up his teams to be both defensive or offensive.

I think though - that the Arsenal board are intent on hiring manager who prioritises attacking football. (Which I can understand: Barca and Ajax have a similar ethos)I have no doubt Luis Enrique is one of the candidates, Tuchel also fits this profile.

PSG and Chelsea will also be in the hunt for a manager so we face stiff competition.

You and Piskie have hit it on the head. We're all fed up with the lack of defensive discipline, consistency and lack of fight that we all want some sort of task master/disciplinarian to come in. But it's also hard to forget the wonderful football that Wenger created in his early tenure as well. Bottom line is for us to come back to some form of pre-Wenger era team and create a solid foundation and work forward from there. We need a few years to change things around and then start thinking of playing nice attacking football. We have too many deficiencies at the moment that we need to fix before thinking of playing like City or Liverpool.

The PL is far too competitive at the moment that we need to be careful not to get things wrong.

he win PL at 2015 ?!!! am not sure what you mean by "years" and a dinosaur !!!
yes he is not perfect, his style is frustrating most of the times, but the club at least is going up steadily now
Man City and Chelsea spend more than us this season despite both been teams of champions who didn't need more reinforcement.. yet we are way above Chelsea, and just need more signings too to be in level of City .. remember Pep almost spend over 400m in 2 seasons for a team who were champions and constantly in top4 while UTD were worst ..
Jose is not an idiot and can adopt, his track record is solid , if City was not amazing we would had win PL this season as points wise we can be higher than many PL winners in past years.

Cool story. Convince yourself as much as you want, you're not convincing me or indeed many other rival fans. As I said....when rival fans start wanting your manager to stay put you know you've got a dud. Been there, done that with Wenger. Long may Jose stay where he is.

Had more to do with the Chelsea side, that title win. In the two years he has been at United, you guys haven't really come close to winning the title. He's definitely not the manager he was.

We can finish on a maximum 86 pts (no guarantee), which with our GD would have only won the league three times since the turn of the century, one of those being when Leicester won it and everyone else was crap. So our current points total isn't that great.

Can't tempt you to take him off our hands then?

I'd want him as much as I'd want Wenger to stay on.

he definitely seems to be getting more and more erratic. When he loses games these days he regularly comes up with bizarre comments, leaves interviews and blames individual players. Compare this to his earlier career when he was more arrogant and sure of himself. its almost like the pressure is starting to get to him. I have to agree his path is starting to remind me a lot of the beginning of Wenger losing his magic.

Irritated by the rumors that Liverpool's assistant boss is rumored to be in the running. Want Allegri.

There’s gonna be all sorts of names being banded around until it’s announced. The only reason the pool no2 was mentioned was because liverool have given him some time off for personal reasons.

That could be anything from his cat needing to go to vet to his daughter graduating or the such !

Are you that desperate to throw in your identity? Same mistake United made when Fergie retired, and continue to make.

Wouldn't you rather an attacking coach or at least one who understands the philosophy at Arsenal? Someone like Ancellotti, Jardim, Sampaoli, Hassenhuttl, heck even Vieira?

    Allegri will make you boring.

I think people confuse "defensive" with "able to construct a defense". Allegri is definitely the latter.

Agreed, Juve have 84 league goals this Season - and in the ultra defensive Serie A no less.

    Hardly a defensive team!

Yeah less defensive than Mourinho but there are similarities in the organisation, discipline and pragmatism. It would be a swing from the freedom of expression you enjoyed under Wenger. Maybe that's what you want? Though as a neutral on Arsenal I've always admired the way Wenger tried to play the game.

Do you want to play with 33% possession at home to Tottenham? Meaning attack for half an hour and defend for the other hour. That's what Allegri did in the CL against Tottenham.

That's the same case people make to argue Mourinho isn't a defensive manager. Madrid scored 120 odd goals under him in a season therefore 'proving' he's an attacking manager. Which obviously is bullshit and more down to the quality of players at Real.

Anyway, I don't have a vested interest in this. It's just that Arsene is an institution in the game and after United's failed attempts to replace Fergie I'm intrigued to see who you'll go for. Surely it's already agreed behind the scenes and they're just waiting to the end of the season to announce it? I can't see you'd let Wenger go without your preferred replacement lined up.

I want Klopp. It's time for him to take a step up in management anyway. He's tested the water at a mid-table team and got them punching above their weight. Now he should come to one of the big boys.
