Getting to the point as this saga drags on.....time for a call to Big Sam with Defoe as his right hand man.....big chunk of change for SA if he gets us promoted....one year contract and if he is successful let's see how long potential head coaches would make their mind up to come to a Premier League club...off to get my tin hat.

Yeah whatever is on here is fair game but how much weight does the word of an ITK on here have on the wider fanbase? Like I personally do not know any of the ITKs on RTG so i'm not particularly interested when someone says someone on there has news.

And surely the respectful thing to do would be contribute to the board if you are going to share things from it?

Thing is with Still, there was this ‘wow look what he’s done at Reims’ element, but then Brest go and get CL, with our former player as gaffer.

It is so hard to gauge French football last 2/3 years and will be for a couple more as they have ****e TV money and it’s the bigger clubs suffering as a result.

Are these coaches all that or are they right place right time with smaller clubs that don’t want to cut salaries?

I’d be happy with Still, I’d probably prefer Eric Roy, but neither are likely some kind of managerial god.

I’d still personally be more into Cooper, Danny Rohl. Still inability to sustain the Reims story in a really weak league hasn’t damaged his stock but in true looking through football eyes it’s worth noting.

I’m certainly not getting a boner about the lad coming here, even if I do sway towards thinking he could be excellent.

The Lens supporters really starting to kick off now ...

... their owner seems to be doing 'a Short' and closing the chequebook.

Joseph Oughourlian, le propriétaire du RC Lens, a annoncé un retour à la « rigueur budgétaire ». Cela passera par des départs, dont celui d'Elye Wahi. https://ow.ly/VbAJ50S7GAj

"One year and then gone? Arriving last summer from Montpellier for €30 million, Elye Wahi should already leave RC Lens. Despite a first season with twelve goals and four assists in 37 matches, all competitions combined, the striker is concerned by the desire of the Lens leaders to return to a budgetary balance which they consider more reasonable.

All parties have agreed to leave in the coming weeks, like other elements of the northern club. It now remains to find the club. Elye Wahi has supporters in England and Germany. With this decision confirmed, negotiations should accelerate in the coming days."

I really hope so mate.

Comfy plodders like Mowbray are fine but I think, for them, success would be scraping up in 6th place ...

... I'd like someone openly touting himself as a top 6 manager.

Every manager would think of themselves as a top 6 manager, but you need the squad to match that.

Perhaps that’s why Still is delaying/not coming, he doesn’t believe what we have can achieve top 6 and as things stand neither do I.

If we are looking for managers with ambition, we have to match the ambition by investing in the playing squad.

That doesn’t mean chucking untold millions at it, but having adequate experience and a recognised centre forward would be a start.

Me neither. It’s a huge few months ahead. Need to give the new man a proper chance and back him this summer.

We also have to wait for the transfer window to open.

Nah the reason is he is aloud to take his staff, and has a control over transfers even if the owner keeps a tight hold on the money
