well it is a forum of opinions and not everyone has the same view, i had a good chat with Mick Sterbs about Burge and enjoyed it, come away thinking canny lad, you get to see the other persons points of view, i was a bit silly and had a bit of a heated debate with Nacho over points of view , another good poster who does some very nice posts, not everyone will agree with him but that's what the boards for different perspectives. Since you came on this board i find your view refreshing and point out things other people don't notice, I could but wont put up posts of what some have said which would make them look foolish but there is no need for that, at the end of the day its just words for a chat agree or disagree, its no reason to fall out over a difference of opinion. As for me i enjoy your posts and points of view even if they differ from mine sometimes

Thank you mate. Without naming names, there’s a couple of people who look try to cause arguments due to differing opinions. I just try and keep away from it all and rise above it tbh. We all want Sunderland to be a success at the end of the day.

The trouble is you have two differing opinions about the same player then continually criticise other posters for their views ...

... now you're playing the victim as people like you always do.

You're just playing a game that you're not very good at.

Well he changed his opinion of Winchester after a few games as did a load of other posters who slated him, same as Burge and McFazdean mate, who along with a load of other board members did, as i stated earlier some peoples opinions wont match others and that will never change , but as you stated in an earlier post we are all Sunderland so lets try our best to get on, none of us are perfect i know i eff it up quite a bit to which i will apologise now

Good post mate. As I've always said I'll give my honest opinion on here good or bad, with no fear of the dreaded humble pie which a lot of people seem scared of, and if I end up clashing with people because I feel provoked or just want to fight my corner then I will continue to do so. I'll also continue to resist the temptation to play the 'told you so' card because I'm not a fan of that either.

Any spats are just that and we always kiss and make up in the end. Sound bunch on here at the end of the day

I think the point about Burge not being the most confident and commanding keeper is a valid one at times but there have been many, many games where he has just gone about his business quietly and professionally.

He’s there to stop the oppo scoring and he’s done that better than any other keeper in this league, yes it’s with the help of a solid defence but that’s what being a team is all about. The defenders help the keeper have an easier time and the midfield help the strikers get the goals and both Wyke and Burge are benefiting from that teamwork making them currently the best in the league in their positions.

Long may it continue, Burge and Wyke started the season as two of our most criticised players but I’m sure they’ve won over a lot of those critics by doing what they’re paid to do and doing it very, very well.

You say solid defence. The stats back that up but it has a young defender, midfielders covering centre half and right back and some dodgy left backs. I think Burge has overcome his confidence issues and has been remarkable over the past 2 months.

I did. When we signed him I said ‘love his attitude but he’s a poor footballer’.

Love the kid now, obviously, but I absolutely didn’t rate him.

It’s ok to change your opinion.
you are forgiven my son go in peace<laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh> I've always admired your knowledge of footballers and teams, and as a rule of thumb if you rate someone ill go along with your view

I mean, I’m not saying I was wrong Rog, he’s clearly improved, and continues to improve.

If he hadn’t, I’d still think he was ****e, with a great attitude.

Now he’s quality, with a great attitude.

I wasn’t wrong, ever, just things changed <laugh>

Funny old world when Parky got rid of McGeady someone published his story here think it was Tees after reading his reply that he left on loan for the good of the team and the circumstances surrounding it, bearing in mind he took a pay cut to play for us, i wanted Parky out and Wyke. A few months later we have a new manager a team busting a gut to win and Wyke playing out of his skin and a lot of that is due to Geads crosses which that combination accounted for 4 in one match if my memory serves me right as the games are coming thick and fast and I'm a crusty old fart. So what's your opinion on Stewart and Jones for their first games they did themselves no harm and hit the deck running two cracking signings in my opinion looking forward to hearing yours
